I'm just going to delve right into the fun part. Sabres are a cross of Cutters and Flourishes. They slash, easily lunge toward foes, and can do a heck of a lot of damage when used properly. Here's one thing that sets them apart from the others: They only have 1 attack.

~The Attacks~

So here's how it would work. You attack an enemy, but you only click once. It sets off an elaborate series of motions that will constantly make you move forward, dealing devastating damage.
Here's the interesting part: You slice right THROUGH enemies while attacking, moving straight ahead. During the attack you cannot move, and you cannot shield at all. For the first few milliseconds of activation (The second you use it), you are immune to all damage and for the remaining attack, damage is reduced. The second you deal the final attack, you can move and shield again, but there's a small delay between consecutive attacks.
But since that seems more annoying for what its worth, each of the sabre movements have a decent AoE (Area of Effect), so you might still get a few good hits in.

Now for the Charge attack. It's a strong single lunge straight through an enemy, that also hits any monsters in the path.

Normal attack would take roughly 1.5 seconds to fully execute (From when you click and attack, to the instant you can move again). The charge attack would take about 1 second (Same deal as above). This sword would give a different style to swordmasters, ones who swoop in, eliminate a couple of mobs, then swoop back out (Also known as a safe-style). Most of the other styles involve running in, bashing everything in sight, using your shield occasionally.

~Naming time!~

--Normal Branch--

3* Sabre: Tear through monsters with this regal blade

4* Fine Sabre: This blade rips up enemies as easily as it could be used as a mirror.

5* Grandiose: The epitome of beauty and fury, monsters will simply DIE to be killed by this masterpiece!

--Shadow Branch--

4* Shadower: Ever wonder where you shadow is? It's right here.

5* Phantasmal Blade: The very essence of a Phantom corrupts this dark sword, which drives even the most sane Knight to madness

--Fire Branch--

4* Sizzling Sabre: Great for making Wolver-flambe'!
Charge attack: Fair chance of dealing medium fire

5* Flareus: The fire in this blade is so powerful, there is no longer a blade.
Charge Attack: Good chance of dealing strong Fire, fair chance of recieving fire
Normal Attack: Good chance of dealing strong Fire

--Ice Branch--

4* Frostreaver: Cold enough to freeze hell over!
Charge attack: Fair chance of dealing medium freeze

5* Glacian: Your grandma's hot chocolate won't help you now...
Charge Attack: Good chance of dealing strong Freeze, fair chance of recieving freeze
Normal Attack: Fair chance of dealing strong Freeze

--Shock Branch--

4* Voltrage: The very presence of this blade will electrocute monsters and players alike
Charge attack: Fair chance of dealing medium Shock

5* Stormshear: This blade is so shockingly shocking, it can shock even the most shocking shock!
Charge Attack: Good chance of dealing strong Shock, fair chance of recieving Shock
Normal Attack: Fair chance of dealing strong Shock

*Elemental Branches have slightly lower attack (About 1 bar), but deal pure elemental damage.

>>During the attack and the delay, you cannot move, you cannot cancel it, and you cannot shield at all. So if you miss, you're screwed.

What? No! Devilites, Greavers, T3/Alpha Wolvers, even Gremlins have pretty decent dodge abilities and would resultantly tear anyone using this thing to pieces. Besides, being unable to cancel an automatic chain attack immediately puts you at risk from everything else in the room. Even if you hit your intended target, getting locked into a long attack sequence - and two seconds is a long time in a hectic fight - means that any passing mob could take a swing at you and you'd be powerless to stop them.

There's a Sabre model type in the game files already that doesn't appear to correspond to any currently usable weapon, so maybe we'll see this sort of thing at a later date; or, possibly, they're old weapons that have been discarded but not removed. They look very much like Calibur/Brandish line swords, but with longer, narrower blades.

Duly noted

I've made a couple of changes:

*2 seconds -> 1.5 seconds (Attack sequence)
*1.5 seconds -> 1 second (Charge)
*You can now cancel (Attack button again)
*Reduced damage when in the attack sequence (Unsure of amount)
*No delay between attack -> shield, but delay between attack -> attack

Any more input? After all, it has to be acceptable to the majority of players.
I don't want this to be another one of those garbage swords (Beast Basher, Troika to an extent)

I didn't design this sword-style based on quick, dodging enemies like Wolvers and Devilites, more for slow tanks where mindlessly cutting and shielding, no matter what, will get you hurt (Lumbers). Or perhaps even for disorienting Gun Puppies and Howlitzers.
