I go striker on rare occasions, too.

Recon gunner FTW. I like to come out of cloak for a split second to fire a single Magnus shot, then re-cloak and move erratically before firing again, etc. It generally results in a lot of annoyed enemies. :) The best type of crowd control is psychological crowd control!

Mostly recon. I equip trinkets for max sword damage and snipe people with my BTB (mostly). BTB is fast enough to swing once, recloak, and dodge the inevitable counter pretty easily, then just move a bit to the right or left and do it again. Score over 12K pretty regularly now.

Recon & Guardian
Recon is my favorite, though I play Guardian a fair bit too.I take in a Callahan, Magma Driver, Umbra Driver and Shivermist, wearing Shadowsun and either Nameless or Deadshot along with 2 Elite Trueshot modules. Normally as a gunner I get pretty pathetic damage compared to the BTB wielders- and I haaate the ridiculious log range swipes from GFs and DAs that take me out from the other side of my screen.
I'm all about the recon for the max bomb CTR, and the occasional hasty retreat when I get in over my head.
If guardian had a med CTR I might mix it up a little.
