Does the level of the item matter(as in would the crafted item be more powerful)if the level is higher when you craft an item with it?Let's say i use a level 10 2 star item to craft a 3 star item.Would the 3 star item be less powerful if i had used a level 6 2 star item or do the levels not matter?This has been bothering me since i started and i can not get this off my mind.Just seems to make the most sense even if it isn't.
I have a question...or two.

form what i understand, no it doesnt matter. so if you have the recipe for the 3 star, theres no sense in leveling the 2-star one all the way to level 10. it can be level one.
recipes for 4 star and 5 star require the weapons to be level 5 / level 10 respectively. so only for the 5star version do you need to level it all the way. the stats are the same, no bonuses because you put more heat into it.

I don't believe so...
I've never seen a case where alchemizing using a higher level equip as crafting material yielded better results. As far as I know there's no real difference, and if there is I've never seen anything significant.

A t3 will be better than a lvl 10 t2. The only advantage of leveling a weapon, is it gives a slight stat bonus (The light blue bar on the stats gets filled in progressively towards lvl 10).

the bars used to indicate
the bars used to indicate weapon stats have two colors. the current stat is a lighter blue color. the max stat for the weapon is indicated by a darker blue bar that extends past the lighter one. as you approach level 10, that additional dark bar is filling up with the lighter shade (as your stats go towards the max value for the weapon).
so i shouldve been clearing in stating that, yes, there is a good reason to level up your weapon to 10 -- its more effective. these facts are true for all equipment, really. but if you have all the ingredients needed for forge the next level of a weapon, theres no reason to keep leveling it up. just better to move on to the next version. but if you have to keep playing with the older version to gather material, then you are going to continue to level it anyways, and you'll be better off until youre ready for the next level of the weapon.
