We all know that the price of CE is rising, and no one (except those who are the ones selling them at the high price) is happy about it.
I have a better solution that will help out (or potentially) solve this problem.
The answer - have a computer (not people) sell CE for a constant price (i.e.-6000 crowns)

basically, only the game itself can sell energy on the market, but energy can still be traded in game. This will keep the CE price constant, which will make it easier to get CE and to value objects such as weapons and armor in CE

Pros-
*price of CE would drop down
*constant price of CE
*stable market
*easier to value things in CE

Cons-
*the people who currently sell energy (for its currently inflated price) will be mad b/c they can only sell through trade and no one would buy unless its
6000 crowns or less

Overall, this would be a much better system for SK, and even if the people currently selling energy for its inflated price would suffer, they're making most of the people playing suffer with their price (karma's a b....)

If you have any questions or comment plz post and I'll reply to it.

If your here to rage b/c you currently are selling energy for its inflated price plz DON'T post here no one wants to hear how this system would suck b/c you would lose crowns.

End result: nobody buys CE

End result: nobody buys CE for cash.

Not True

Just because of this system doesn't mean no one would buy CE, buying it with cash would still be the quickest way of getting it, and people who are impatient and have credit cards or paypal accounts will buy energy in order to use it for various things, like recipies or elavator fees.

Blasted communists. You do

Blasted communists. You do realize that no one would use the CE makret then? People would just go around it with trade chat. Kinda like basil. Or unbinding. Plus, free players would get screwed, becuase sellers wouldn't have to compete, and they would be less likely to sell in general.

No one is making you pay that price. The problem is that most of my fellow buyers are to foolish to realize that they can just ask for a lower price, as opposed to hitting "buy now" seven times to make a vog coat. I agree that the CE price is high, but this is tied for the dumbest idea on the fourms. Tied with what? All the other threads that are exactaly the same as this one. Have pity on me and at least use the crappy search bar.

1) if the CE was priced at

1) if the CE was priced at 6000 crowns at the market, sellers would have to sell it for less then 6000 crowns in order to get business so there would be competion for them
2) The F2P users are already getting screwed with the high (and continually rising) price, at least this system is user friendly to beginners
3) The"buy now" price is only like 200 crowns more usually which isn't much more (still, no one should press the buy now)

Currently the system is corrupt, people buy CE low then sell it slightly higher, making profit. THat's why the price of CE is always rising. I'm just trying to make a market that's stable and won't make CE eventually cost 10 000 crowns

I started this game about a month ago and the price of CE was 6000 crowns, now, a month later, it's 7000 crowns. Imagine after a month or two what that price will be at, 8000? 9000? who knows.

My system's purpose is to stop that process before it gets out of hand. Whether you think it's "the dumbest idea" or "communist" is up to you. I'm just trying to stop it before we're paying too much for energy

Yes, we don't necessarily have to buy it at it's current price, we could go on an "energy strike" and not buy energy until the price comes down, but we shouldn't have to do that, it wastes time in which we can play or make weapons or armor.

Price ceilingSK version1)

Price ceiling

SK version

1) Trade market is capped at 6K
2) Market sells out instantly and stays sold out since the market price is more than 6K and most sellers will quit using it
3) Since the market is always sold out, people start buying CE through direct trades
4) Since the market for direct trades is limited to whoever happens to be in Haven with you at the time, CE sellers don't have to bid against each other very much
5) Market price for CE rises dramatically due to decreased competition. The few sellers still selling through the capped trade market drop out when the realize they can sell for (at least) twice as much in zone chat
6) By capping the price of CE, the real exchange rate has now increased dramatically. Congratulations on a diabolic plan well executed!

The solution is on the demand side. The game needs more crown sinks. Everything in this game that matters requires CE, this includes most high-value trades. Crowns are only good for buying recipes (a one-off and usually doesn't exceed the number of crowns you have on hand once you've been playing a couple of months) and rolling UVs.

But

But to avoid price ceiling, OOO could just not let players trade energy.

that would be unfair, but

that would be unfair, but raising it is like government cuts. nobody wants that either, so id keep the market down to 6,000-6,500.

there's already dozens of CE

there's already dozens of CE threads like this.
and that idea, may seem good to you

but it will literally reduce the money three rings / sega receive..
money that will be used to fund future content, pay for the costs of running the servers and gms
and in effect pay for the food they eat and clothes they wear etc...
because no matter how you spin it, your idea won't get MORE people to buy CE, it won't even cause the same amount of people to buy CE.
so it is directly reducing the amount of money that flows into three rings / sega

there are actually a whole list of counter arguments to what you are suggesting, but i highly doubt you'd care about them.
this one is enough really, I certainly would not want to do more work for less pay.

or if you want, you can put your money where you mouth is, and work out how much it costs to feed yourself for 1 day.
and then use that money to buy CE instead.

"But to avoid price ceiling,

"But to avoid price ceiling, OOO could just not let players trade energy."
People would just quit selling their CE at all then. Then no one who played for free would be able to make three star items. So to avoid that, you would have to make it madatory that you have to sell half of the CE you buy. If that then happened, people would just stop buying CE alltogeather.

"Whether you think it's "the dumbest idea" or "communist" is up to you. "
What the? No, it really isn't up to me. Go google communist, communist. I didn't write the definition. If everyone sells CE for 6k, that's communist.

The general problem with the market now is the fact that OOO isn't attracting new players. I used to see ad's for this game all over the place.

agreed. the only reason i

agreed. the only reason i cant buy ce with real money is im not aloud to, a few other people may have this problem so the market should stay where it is and still give people fair deals. 7,500 is too much, a bit like silver keys in that respect.
"there's already dozens of posts like this", good, glad to hear how many other people agree. with the losing money bit to sega, all they give is a lockpad to tell you its safe, an icon. this needs some other way of paying, i have non of theese pay options i have that are actually fully safe.
websites like this are often a target of hackers. an icon is not fully satisfying, people saying online isnt either, no offense though. if prices arent going to go back down to reasonable levels then at least keep it where it is. also, please think about other payment options, using game cards that already exist is one way without having to pay export and distribution prices. simply opening the website to things like itunes would get some money if they accept of course. or any other method of paying would be handy. sending a letter is not going to work for me as i live in the uk. distance pays and all that but we'll leave this out for now.

But.

But most of the players that play this game only play it for free. Usually kids thaty are younger such as myself have no access to a credit therefore rendering the money not going to the corps. defense usless. These people play on mist or by playing on a good run earn the money and buy CE with such cash. But due to the obvious inflation in the price of CE the money gained is not enough making the players wait 22 Hrs. just to go play another round. I have come to a conclusion that may or may not satisfy some of you.

1. We make crowns less rarer and in higher quantities throughout the gaming worlds.
More crowns form each run means there can be a stable balance in the market of buying and then going to play again without waiting for mist to recharge.

2. People who have access to there credit cards should NOT be able to sell their energy in the market reducing the people that just want to inflate the price of CE and only them getting crowns.
Instead the CE earned by cash it should be only used to buy and use on elevators and is restricted away from the market.

In doing so there should be 3 tabs of energy
1. (mist) just mist
2. (CE bought from market) regular ce
3. (CE purchased through cash) this could be pre paid ce

This should not make a significant change in the purchasing of CE unless people do what i have just previously said.
Also, Unless you do something about the market, people who play 4 free will start quiting and leaving reducing the popularity and possible future purchases.

It could work...

But maybe the energy bot should have a limited stock, that way players can choose between the more reliable (but pricey) Player Energy or the cheaper (but less reliable) Bot Energy.
