Actually I agree with Chris to a point. More so on topics where the OP is trying to get people to agree to his viewpoint then your typical topics though. If you can not be bothered to check your spelling (there is auto-spellcheck on the forums... red lines under words) and fail to use even basic punctuation (hello i b bob how is u i thaught that ce is to hi and it should b lower PROTEST PROTEST PROTEST PROTEST LOWER CE PRICE 000 LOWER OR WII PROTEST) then honestly I can not be bothered to take your post seriously.

It took me a lifetime to figure it out, but it should have read:

After I read that sentence, I was instantly confused. I frantically searched for a subject that I thought would appropriately fit the sentence and make it whole. I saw the words "SPIRAL KNIGHTS" floating on the top left of my screen. I thought, "Is this what he meant to place after the demonstrative adjective of 'these'?"
"These 'Spiral KNIGHTS' are called the ENGLISH LANGUAGE FORUMS. What the [warm afterlife] does that mean?" I exclaimed loudly to my computer screen. I didn't know it at the time, but exclaiming that very phrase caused my computer to transform into a single-use time machine. I was sent forward in time by 2,000 years. But, long story short, I managed to find my way back and post this very important message.

I would have to agree that this thread will do little to change posters' habits. This is, after all, the internet. You will, of course, find multitudes of brazen youth hopelessly lost in the abbreviated world of chat and text language. Whether or not they grow out of it has little to do with those of no relation to them. It's a game after all, not some form of correspondence with a higher-up who has the power to grant you funds for graduate research.

I DO wish that people could be a little more comprehensible though. I'm not condoning it, I'm just trying to give a possible explanation for the behavior and implying that maybe brushing it off and looking elsewhere instead of stressing out over it will be healthier for you.

I agree to an extent. I know people who play SK whose first language isn't German, English, Spanish or French. One friend is Swedish, for example. In those cases I can excuse bad English because they're making an effort to post in our language. I also know people who are severely dyslexic or have a learning disability and the same tolerance applies to them.
But if your first language is English and you can't use apostrophes correctly, or you use "your" and "you're" incorrectly, you need to spend less time spreading crap on these forums and more time making an effort to learn the language.

I'd like to say two things - one, if you play Spiral Knights to any degree of frequency, you'll realize that the non-English forums are effectively graveyards. This leaves many people for whom English is not their first language (or a language of any degree of fluency) to use the English boards to get what they want.
Secondly, ays longue ays you ken ye meaning offe words, itte should be all-right. Take yon filthy prescriptivist nonsense out of here, please. (also, I think it's amusing that Chris is being called a grammar nazi, what with the anti-semitism and all.)

Its pretty common for a modern society (or most for that matter) to have issues with their own language. "Proper" English is ridiculously complicated filled with "absolute rules" that have hundreds of exceptions, words that sound exactly the same, but can have 5 different spellings and meanings, pronunciations and emphasis that aren't always phonetic, along with slang diluting comprehension even further.
Humans spent thousands of years developing protocols for verbal communication. Now with global communication a reality, language is trying to resolve itself and we're slowly moving back toward the basics..... grunts, blurbs and body language. Since body language doesn't work on the internet, and grunts are hard to spell, we're forced to rely on blurbs.
Now that I've spent 2 more paragraphs then I should had on this post, I'm gonna slurp my soda and crush ants trying to crawl into the can. (Damn ant problems)
By saying that there is a lack of remotely decent English on these forums, you are saying that everyone's posts, your posts included, don't have any remotely good English.
