After much anticipation, I picked up this game yesterday.

Only able to play for a few hours so far, I haven't really mastered the Wii Motion controls. I do find these skills are improving as I play.

I find the music & scenery is breathtaking, while the graphics of characters encountered seem a bit flat.

The puzzles (complete with familiar reward sounds), seem to be on par with other Zelda games.

I'm reading a lot of mixed reviews, but I'm curious, what does the Spiral Knights audience think of this new Zelda installment?

Love it

I haven't really bought it yet but, i've played Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, and that game looks like
the graphics and features are the same. I give Twilight Princess two thumbs up and i will with skyward sword too.

I agree on character design.

WARNING: May contain some cereal spoilers.

I'll make this part short, Link looks like a girl.

Anyways, I'm already on the 4th Goddess trial on Hero mode, the mode after you complete the game once. Because of this, I pretty much nailed down the controls, (Using pro interface at the moment.) only problem is, I can't seem to get the down to up slash nailed. Otherwise controls are perfect.
Puzzles are a bit more challenging then what I would have hoped, but still easy enough. 1 quest seems to go on and on, and that's the one with the demon who wants to become human.
Graphics, other than characters of course, are very nice. The desert seems very tedious, and I think the puzzles there should have been put in a less bland area.
Another thing that really bugs me are the materials needed for upgrading. Half of the items need "Dusk Relics" to be upgraded, something you get in the "closer to the end" part of the game.
So basically,
Gameplay = Amazing
Puzzles = Slightly challenging, but easy at the same time.
Graphics = "Awe"some, except for the characters.
Story = This would seem to be the 1st story of the whole series, correct me if I'm wrong.

Oh, and is it just me, or does Twilight Princess seem to have better graphics of Link?

Still working at it

@Cahills Haven't they been putting earrings on Link since Ocarina of Time?
@Ryzera Yup, it's the first. Have you seen the shots of Nintendo's official timeline for the series?

Anyway, we're still chipping away at this one ... it's hard to find time to play when our daughter doesn't get squicked we've stolen the television. About 18 hours of gameplay and we're somewhere in the Lanayru Desert.

It's been a lot of fun so far- I think my favorite thing about it is that they've orchestrated the score for this one.

Just finished the second temple

The controls seem spot on. Although if you move the wii remote too far right, left, up, or down the cursor does get stuck ( i've died countless times because of this ) The puzzels are pretty hard and require you to stop and think so that's always good. The game comes with it's own soundtrack. Can't wait to finish the game! I'd give a 4 out of 5 stars ( for the cursor sometimes getting stuck )

The greatest game in the series!

When comparing Skyward Sword to Ocarina of Time, one of them is definitely better. I can't really make up my mind as to which one, but I guess I would say that Skyward Sword is, just cuz of its sheer grandeur; epic story, epic battles; even the underwater moments are sublime.

Loving it so far, but haven't finished it

We got the game on release day (I had pre-ordered it for my husband), but have actually yet to finish it. Why? Because our 3 year-old gets antsy when we monopolize the television and we have other things to do after she goes to bed. XD

We're loving what we've already seen of it, though, and can't wait to be able to pick it up again.
