I recently got a flourish, and i havent got a weapon that can deal fire damage yet, so i was considering the furious flamberge. i read past threads saying that compared to the flourish, the flamberge/rigadoon is worse because they do less damage and the status conditions fail to make up for it. Is it really that bad?

Yeah, it is.

Yes. It's downright terrible compared to the Final Flourish.
So unless you want to be extremely foolish, take the FF.
Snarble Barb line works too.

I have one - made it because

I have one - made it because burning enemies are cool. The 4* version works quite well in all Stratums, and charge is fairly fast at level 10 too. Perfect for those beast levels.

I upgraded mine to 5* just for fun (didn't need to, 4* is good enough!) and it seems like the charge takes longer - care.

Re: Fire, it sets stuff on it very often. And the fire can spread a bit too. The fire's damage is fairly low though. The other pierce swords will do more damage if you care about that, but the flamberge's really is enough for everything if you'd find it more fun.
