Disconnecting from game very often.
After yesterday's patch, I've been getting disconnected from the game very very often, around once every 10 minutes when in haven and repeatedly whenever I go into a gate, this is pretty much unabling me to properly play at all, is anyone else getting this issue?
I've been told it is because I play ofer wifi (which I know is not recommendable at all) but still, before this patch I had not been disconnected even once so really, it's not making any sense D: Can anyone help?
I don'tt believe it is actually my internet connection, since I hadn't had any issues with it until now, my settings are:
Processor: Intel core i5 M450 @ 2.4 GHz
RAM: 4 GB
Graphics: GeForce 310M
OS: W7 HP
I think I should be safe with those.
I did a ping test and the result was somewhat offputting, I think my geographical localization might be part of the issue (since I don't get very good results when testing on US servers) but if that were the only issue, I would've had trouble playing since day 1, perhaps it is a matter of servers getting more crowded by the day?
MrTanuki, a bad combination of your location and crowded servers is most certainly a possibility. Unfortunately, if that is the case there is not much that can be done on your end except for contacting Three Rings to get more information. Still, if you have the time you should run through the rest of the troubleshooting FAQ just to rule out all the common problems.
If you started noticing this problem after the patch, that is a bit worrisome. I would suggest emailing OOO and explaining what is going on: http://wiki.spiralknights.com/Support_Portal
Thanks for the advice, for the time being I'll try to steer clear of crowded english servers, maybe try a spanish one? (even though I'd much rather play on an english-speaking haven...)
If you believe your internet connection is the issue, please consult the following FAQ pages:

If there is anything else you can tell us about the problem or your setup, that would be helpful in understanding what is going on.
