How does "Recipe Investing" work? A little note before I explain. This requires AT LEAST 2000 Crowns.
How it works:
Step 1: Go to a Clockwork Terminal.
Step 2: Buy one of the most popular recipes Basil has.
Step 3: When you return to Haven, look up how much that recipe costs, and calculate the average "buy now" price of all the recipes that match yours.
Step 4: Put up a listing and set the Buy Now price as the average you found.
Step 5: Set the Bid Price as 25% of your Buy Now price.
Step 6: List the auction for two days.
Step 7: When the auction is finished, marvel at the profit you made!
If you do these steps, then you can make a profit of over 1000 crowns!

It's easier to do with at least 1 friend.
While u are looking at the available recipes at the terminal, have your friend look at the Auction House and see if any of the available recipes have bids beyond 111.11% of the price basil sells (111.11% is to negate the 10% sell price).
