im not sure if this could be done but....
I have a theory that if sega or three rings or whoever is in charge of the servers put up an extra server somewhere in south east Asia like Vietnam or Indonesia that would really help the latency issues in the Asia/Oceania region...

Anyone else think this would be a good idea? It would help the players who suffer from random skipping and the occasional occurrence of getting hurt while shielding (has happened to me constantly)
This might as well help Canadian and us players since they dont have to dell with players having a high ping and ruining the game.

I just hope one day they put up a server to help me and many other Australians play this game

I'd like it, but they'd have

I'd like it, but they'd have to choose between hosting it in America/Asia(Singapore) to cater to the masses that would benefit from it. Some Australian ISP's route traffic through America then Asia while others route traffic through Asia first. So some players would still experience lag regardless of where they place the server :P unless they place it IN Australia but I highly doubt the costs would be worth it.

Why no response?

I am currently in SE Asia. I never knew how good I had it when I was living in the US. The new battle pack looks very enticing. The only problem I have is that I find it difficult to spend money on the game because of the lag. I die quite often due to lag and sometimes it's just unplayable. If they had a closer server, I wouldn't mind putting down money for the game. I think there are a lot of people on this side of the world that would also be willing to pay real money.

Agree, I am in vacation in China right now and the lag is just horrible, I can barely play and I get hit even if I put up my shield. OOO should really put servers on every continent if they can.

Just One

Put up just one server in Asia/Oceania as a test to see who logs onto it. It can't cost that much to put up one server. OOO would make the money back quickly for sure.

Re: Just One

Agreed, one or two instance servers would be easy enough. It would only need to be PVP / Dungeon. All non action maps could still be centralized. I'd go so far as saying its the right thing to do if your marketing an action game, I bet retention and spending could have been waaaaay better if there was local servers in / near Australia when the F2P campaign was on. I know players who got the hat, could see the fun in the game but couldn't deal with the long traffic times.

So to re-iterate...

OOO we are asking you to try out a test server in the Asia/Oceania area, just to see whether it would be viable or not.

But it raises the question of

But it raises the question of how and when to send players to that Oceanic instance. The only effective way of doing that is segregating the player base in one form or another, so that people don't get randomly thrown into a party being hosted off of it if they don't live near it.

Why not?

I wouldn't mind playing with people near in a random group. It would be a better experience for everyone, also I could friend them later. If I choose to join friends, then I go to the server they are on. If they choose to join me, they come to my local instance.
