For those squabbling about skyrocketing energy prices.

Chill out. It's only because of the Elevator Pass sale going on. Anyone who has it essentially has unlimited Clockworks access, and therefore can use saved Mist instead of CE for Danger Rooms, Energy Gates, Revives, and Crafting.
Once everyone who bought a pass expires and the pass is removed from the store, CE prices will stabilize. Just be patient until then.
Completely off-topic: I've gotten a few iron lockboxes from FSC runs today. I'm not willing to spend the 750CE it takes to open them, so I was wondering if anyone as of yet knows exactly what they contain, and if they're worth anything on the market.

Because there's a good reason for that. DA is a very popular and powerful weapon, and this has been proven time and time again. It falls to reason that most players will want it because of this, hence the demand in recipes for it.
As for the Elevator pass, Three Rings specifically stated that it's a limited-time offer. And given how little you have to pay for what is essentially a 30-day supply of infinite energy, it stands to reason that it'll either be removed, or receive a substantial hike in price at some point.

It stands no reason that it'll be removed or receive a substantial hike in price at some point.
It's "infinite energy" but you still have to purchase CE to craft, or work like a slave to earn crowns so you can buy CE to craft (most people who buy it, I'm guessing, are in the latter category).
Think about it. What's the opportunity cost? About 2500 CE ($5.95's worth).
Considering the average elevator pass owner might not do more than 20 levels per every day of the month (100 mist + 100 ce), and in fact might even do less, it means that OOO are actually making mad money on this. It "stands to reason" that they'll continue to sell it, providing that the data supports this pattern that I described. Why do you think they're testing it if they aren't exploring the idea of making it permanent??

They only contain accessories, which are these neat little items you can put on your character but serve no purpose beyond aesthetics. On top of that, it's a random accessory - so you cannot tell whether the box contains a nifty Aura, or just another Maid Headband.
On another note: For some reason I don't know, gambling accessories seems to be pretty popular in this game though, and Iron Lockboxes sell for a decent price at the Auction House. Just put them on auction with a low bid price and 2 days to bid, and players will come flocking for it.
Maybe the pass will never be removed, and there will be infinite inflation :D
... but seriously, another CE thread? Why don't people make threads about the price of Divine Avenger recipes?? I think those are pretty disturbing.
