My Fiery Pepperbox has served me well but I would like to have an alternative I can run and gun with just in case.

Which of the two guns I can get from the Twins would be best for me? The main purpose of the gun will be to pick off any survivors left after I've worn them down with my bombs, as well as hitting any troublesome turrets.

Thanks in advance.

In that case go Pulsar.

In that case go Pulsar. Catalyzer bullets are slow and Pulsar bullets cause large explosions. No contest really.

Specifically I'd go for the Polaris line; the Supernova's alright, but it's a straight-Normal weapon, which can be limiting, and honestly I think the Valiance is a better Normal firearm.

Definitely Pulsar-->Polaris.

Definitely Pulsar-->Polaris. There is no finer gun for picking off turrets.

I have the Biohazard and the Polaris, and in terms of utility, Polaris wins hands down. Elemental weapons are great for gunning things you'd want to gun (turrets, mostly) and the Polaris has a large hitbox + faster bullets, so it's much easier to kill things with it than the Catalyzer line. I use my Biohaz for JK pretty exclusively--just JK himself, not even the other jellies--and I have a lot of trouble using it against gremlins. Admittedly I'm not a greatly gunslinger, but killing gremlins with guns is a pain in the butt either way.

i haven't tried anything

i haven't tried anything outside of the pulsar line, but I enjoyed my supernova when I first got it. It was good enough for soloing / generic combat situations... but now that we can change weapons between floors, I find myself using more situational equipment, so I'm currently going for a polaris. the knockback is fun on both, but I think I'll benefit more from the elemental dmg and status effect of the polaris. I don't think anyone in my guild uses the other line (catalyzer).

The Biohazard is good when

The Biohazard is good when you combo it with vortex bombs. If you dont have a vortex bomber then polaris is the best.

Supernova ftw but....

See, I love me Supernova because I can herd mobs into corners and blast them into oblivion. I also hate shock, thanks to it's handy ability to shut down your shield. I've seen far too many Polaris gunners run around spamming shots and end up either getting me stuck in a corner with a bunch of shocked mobs or getting me killed as an angry knight gains the ability to fly.

If you know what you're doing, and you enjoy having teammates who don't hate you, get a pulsar. It's a much better general use gun (although, if you can get a serious CTR on a catalyzer, I can see it being more fun :P) Also try to balance your gun with your other weapons. IF you are a gunner, the alchemer line is MUCH better for elemental dmg than the Polaris. If you have shadow and piercing swords, the polaris is a better idea. I happen to have a Glacius with UV High: Construct, so NOTHING kills turrets better than I do. I did, however, need something to help me hit switches and target mobs that resists elem, so I chose the supernova.

Someone doesn't understand how Catalyzer works

@Batabii : what are you

@Batabii : what are you trying to say with that video ? Catalyzer bullets ARE painfully slow and Pulsar bullets DO cause large explosions.

Lumbers are slow and easy to hit with any weapon anyway. And note that there are weapon *cough* DA *cough* that only need 1 charge instead of 12 to one shot a lumber. And try to aim a Biohazard at mini-jellies moving everywhere (or even normal jellies). Good luck if you are not a very good gunslinger.

@Servitor : Supernova do more "flying knights" than Polaris due to no shock preventing (sometimes) the knockback. Both are equally annoying for the rest of the team, but Polaris is elemental, so more damage against turrets. As for being cornered by shocked monsters, i just can't imagine that. Shock doesn't last more than a second, you need to use proper shield bumping.

Again, for a general purpose use, Polaris wins by a large margin. But Biohazard is useful too, as a shadow gun, and is fun to use.

If you didn't look, catalyzer

If you didn't look, catalyzer has huge explosions too. And pulsar bullets are almost as slow.

But yeah personally I prefer pulsar. Catalyzer has potential, but takes too long to deal massive damage, and teammates will often sabotage you. That said, I've heard some people who swear by Biohazard.

Biohazard's main targets are slow, large targets like most constructs and slimes. It won't do any good against bosses though (except maybe vanaduke? I never bothered even bringing a shadow weapon to there) and every other monster class dodges or resists shadow. I still say it's better than umbra driver though.

For that matter, I find most poison weapons fairly useless,

Huh ? I have a Biohazard, and

Huh ? I have a Biohazard, and no, Catalyzer doesn't have huge explosions. The only explosion is the charge, whicch require at least a charge + a hit to trigger the charge. Very impractical if you ask me. I love it as a shadow gun, because it's fun, but that's it. Magnus do a better job for gremlins, and jellies are very easy to begin with. I prefer it over an Alchemer for the 3 bullet per reload and for the cool charge. Poison is also a nice side-effect.

Biohazard main target are those weak to shadow :
- jellies, which are pretty fast and small (except lichen)
- gremlins, which are fast and dodge like hell. It's possible to hit them due to their previsible doding, but it's still a pain.

Vanaduke resist everything save Piercing (body phase) and Normal (mask phase) so no, there is no point bringin a Biohazard there.

A bit off-topic, but for other poison weapons : DVS is great for JK and Vana mask phase, and venom veiler is good when there are healers (notably in arenas), so I don't agree with your last statement.

Vanaduke's body only has a

Vanaduke's body only has a SLIGHT resistance. And I figured the poison + stacking would help.
And there's nothing wrong with using biohazard on constructs.
There is no JK, only RJ.
I agree that I'm disappointed in Toxic Catalyzer (Compared to Kilowatt Pulsar) but people don't give it enough credit.
As for the jellies and gremlins, faust is all I ever need :D

ja

Pulsar is typically seen as being better, and cata is kind of meh, though biohazzard looks boss.

Polaris is nice crowd control

Pulsar is nice crowd control gun but.... polaris line is useless against gremlins and wolvers :S Thats why i need another gun for gremlin crowd control.

Guns are generally not good

Guns are generally not good on gremlins anyway. Want to DESTROY gremlins? Use Dark Briar Barrage or Faust.

If you MUST use a gun, use Callahan. It knocks them down most of the time, and it's fast and causes stun. It's also GREAT on wolvers! Even tier 3, since you knock them down, they won't teleport.
