Hey, i dont know how you did but i noticed few things. If i run around heaven in my usuall stuff i get trade spammed by beggars and they go ask for money or anything.

Some say that i could wear poor stuff so they wont notice im player with some experience. But on the other hand when i run around in proto stuff and i try to sell some stuff i get attacked by other kind of people

- scammers - they of course use standard tricks like cancel trade 3-4 times, or put too low crowns hoping ill click confirm by mistake, some even try stuff like "click confirm first"
- cheaters - standard, give me items/crowns/anything and ill make it double
- pro-noob - usually well equipped players, they are either trying to convice me that they bought item i sell for 1/2 price i want for it. If they sell stuff and i tell them "lol, you give too low for it, see avarge AH prices" they say some blablabla and when i give them arguments they just end up calling me a noob instead of tell something constructive and try to negotiate.

Of course if they will say it straight, and i have chat proof complain goes right away, but unfortunatly i think it will be just a log-out warrning..

What do you think about those situation? Do you notice them too? How often? Did it started just recently of was here always?

IMO things like that are very bad for game, for attracting new players. How would you feel, you started new game and first thing happen to you you get scammed or used up by someone.

I see stuff like this all the time.

Sometimes I get sick of all the trade/friend/guild requests and just stick to wearing my cyclops cap and fencing jacket. [Stealth mode!]

I've had the "I'll double whatever you give me" line once in this game, but I've heard it a bunch in other games as well.

The worst part about these scams is you can be guaranteed that some people are falling for it. Pretty sad. All you can really do is register complaints against them.

There's another kind of "scamming" you didn't mention, which I'll call Noob Disguise!

A high level player equips Proto or other low-grade equips, then proceeds to go around pretending to be a down-on-his-luck but hopeful noob and cons wealthy/helpful players into giving him free stuff.

Someone in my last guild did this, and said he was making way more cash doing that than running clockworks. He even accidentally sent to guild chat a line that went something like "thanks you're so awesome" followed by "oops that was meant for him. I just keep telling him crap and he keeps giving me stuff. lol"

To make things worse, his usual equips were Shadow Lair stuff, Snarbolax coat, etc. He was all decked out in 5* gear and was one of the more talkative people in the guild. Apparently just had no sense of morality whatsoever.

Yeah, I, the player, not this

Yeah, I, the player, not this particular character, ran into a guy today who was going around claiming to be an admin and apparently telling people to give him crowns. He never got to the crown begging part with me since I told him that I reported him after he claimed to be an admin, but after I switched the exchange over from tells, someone else mentioned to me that this guy had been going around to the various Havens with the same scam. The scammer blabbed so much that I had plenty of material to screenshot.

It's always interesting to see what the Proto draws out of people.

Ha

Pro-noobs eh?

I ran into one before. I was giving a free Prismatech to this dude I just met, when he PMs me and tells me to give him free stuff.

I ignore him and go about my business, and he's like 'You're mean. :('

Anyways, later, I see the same guy, BUT, he's wearing a full ashtail set. I inspect him, and he has all this 4-5* gear. And a Snarble barb.

I ask him why was he begging me fore stuff when he already has all he needs. He was like :'...I don't know you...'

LATER, I see him again, but in his noob gear again. Walks up and randomly says

'What's cr?'
'What's ce?'
'I'm a noob, I just started.'

I tell him he's lying, and prove it by pointing out he left the Snarble barb in the same slot.

'What's a snarble barbe?'(He did spell it like that.)

Then he was like 'Oh, I have one.'

LATER yet again! I see him back in his Ashtail, and I just do the stare thingy : /e STARE

He first said, 'Hey, I remember you.' Then 'What?'

Accusations made, argument put forward, the next thing: 'I don't know you...'

And he goes back to proto gear sometime later. By then, I'm gone.

Hmm...

For me, I get approached ALL the time, weither it be my cute kitty pigtails or my spiffy snarby coat, I always get random trade requests.... "annoying..." So, to conceal my great self, I disguise myself in some gear that looks noobish, but isn't all proto. The thing to keep in mind, New players are decked out in Proto. Noobs are decked out in 1* Gear. So get a cyclops helm or a Mining Hat, and maybe a emberbreak or frostbreak armor. Oh and don't forget the shield ;). And sure, there may be some noobs who will give you random stuff, so think like a noob and hit confirm!

I am the Anti-Noob

I click "Hide" upon receiving trade requests and let them tire themselves out.
I then proceed to win the internet.
