There's two things that are grinding my gears about this game. That's the lag and the delayed response. I've updated my router and I got a fairly fast connection, yet I still suffer from second delays in my hits/blocks and it drives me nuts. As you could imagine this makes Tier 3 runs and getting my gear to 5-Star all the more difficult. It's one thing for me to miss a block and then pay for it with my life. It's quite another when I get a lag spike for a second and die the next second.

So I ask you, my fellow Knights, is their anything else I could possibly do on my end to get rid of this issue? I have a Shadow Key, and by the time I get my first 5-Star set I'd like to NOT die due to a spike while being mod by God only knows what lurks down their.

Please fix the lag. I will buy over 9000 elevator passes if you do, OOO.

What is your computer &

What is your computer & graphics settings like?

This sounds like it might be an issue with it instead of the internet

I'm using a laptop, wireless.

I'm using a laptop, wireless. My Video Card is an AMD Premium Vision (I need to remember how to see the settings. Windows 7 is still somewhat odd to me).
My processor is an AMD Phenom II X3 N830 (Triple Core), 640 GB harddrive and 4 GB's of Ram. I'm running Windows 7, 64 Bit Home Premium.

I hope this helps.

Dunno if this would help but

Dunno if this would help but Im using Windows Vista and it's wireless too. Sometimes I got this really short lag and like 1s delay all of a sudden. MAYBE if you try to use a wire to link it to your modem instead of relying solely on your wireless. Give a try and it's probably not the problem.

Looks like I'll be buying a really long cord then. I was hoping for a solution that wouldn't involve wiring myself, but I might as well give it a shot if only to possibly rule the Wireless thing out.

Hmm that sounds like it

Hmm that sounds like it should be good enough to not have those occasional pauses.

If you haven't yet, you can try changing your graphics settings in Spiral Knights on the escape menu (I think). Try putting the graphics quality to low - it still looks nice, then going into advanced graphics and turning off both the options. Play like that for awhile & see if things improve.

Well...I set it to the lowest one

The lag spikes aren't nearly as bad as they once were, however I'm still experiencing a 1 second delay. To put this to the test I went into Tier 1 until I found a Danger Room to test the effectiveness. The delay made things more difficult since I couldn't quite shield bump or strike when I needed to.

It wasn't a complete fix, Kwi, but I thank you all the same.

Can you give some more stats

Can you give some more stats on your graphics card? I'm pretty sure that is a generic graphics card and probably sucks. If you want a graphics card that doesn't suck a general rule is to get one with either Nvidia or Radeon in it's name. Otherwise it is probably a crappy good-enough-to-run-the-computer graphics card stuck in by your computer manufacturer so that there's something there.
