I'd imagine three rings will implement a system similar to something like this soon to make the haven chat more functional. What I had in mind is this: have separate chat channels for the following categories:

Buying Materials
Selling Materials
Buying Recipes
Selling Recipes
Buying Gear
Selling Gear
and
General Chat

Players could choose to to join or leave these channels as needed and have more than one turned on at a time.

Yeah, maybe.

Having a dedicated Trade Chat/Channel would be a good start and probably sufficient.
Making the different (Haven) zones have their own, separate chat/channels would be a great alternative.
Bazaar, Arcade and Town Square chatter would be limited to their respective zones and possibly have some relevance, e.g. Trade 'chat'/ads in the Bazaar, LFG in Arcade.

Imagine that.

Auction House

While a dedicated trade chat would be fantastic and free up the Haven chat room, I think the main thing that we need is a proper Auction House. As much as I enjoy player to player interaction for trades, I just don't have the time for it sometimes. I have tons of decent crafting materials sitting in my inventory, but when I have time to play the game I want to play, not sit around and hawk my wares.
