Arena Etiquette

I know I am too nice of a guy...however, I did not know the proper etiquette for the situation. I went through the first arena with a fellow knight. Said knight decided that he did not want to go further in the arena.
The question is:
should I have kicked him?
should he have left the party?
or should he have gone solo?
(Is there another option?)
(If you're wondering, I went down to the next level since I feel bad about kicking people unless they are afk without a good reason. No free mats for you!)
Learning...

If you didn't need your heat you should have just went solo yourself. You can still go solo even if you are the leader.
What he said. If the group wants to move on & I don't, I'll solo. Same thing in reverse. Kicking/going solo costs the player their heat by the way unless that's been changed.
The only time you should kick is if one person is putting up a giant whinefest refusing to join the other three on a button/lift.

I was heating up my new armor...
If I had gone solo, would that have started me back at the beginning? Would I then be allowed to recollect heat?
I haven't broken off from a party (since I don't do random group often):
Does going solo remove the heat I've gained and disallow me from gaining heat during that level?
Still learning...

When you go solo you loose heat, and you continue that lvl from place you went solo.

Just kick him. There's no reason not to complete an arena.

^ If you are not prepared/don't know what you are doing, the final room can turn into a waste of ce on revives.
But ya, room 2 is easier then the first, so no reason to skip that one.
