Went down into the clockworks today with a random group. We finished the first level, then we arrived at a Treasure Vault. The leader went afk. We danced around the group button for a few minutes...nothing...so we got to wondering:

Could there be some sort of remove the leader option?
We, jokingly, wondered if we could just vote someone off the team. I know that there are probably some very valid reasons for not allowing this...but this is not the first time that I've gone with a random group only to have a leader go afk.

Pondering...

(I'm trying to do more group exploration after months of soloing...but I'm a little leary...and I'm learning that kicking a party member is not always a bad idea...)

Well normally

This is where I would go solo, but that doesn't always work, does it?
I'd like to see this implemented.

I guess

I guess going solo is an option; however, I am trying to learn how to play well with others (after spending months soloing). And, the rest of the group seemed pretty cool. We had talked about waiting for him to time out, but that was taking too long. :(

but I am concerned about something

Well, it so happens that today, an impromptu HEY WERE EATIN LUNCH call sorta forced me to AFK for all of six minutes.
I came back to see the arcade. Sadface. Anyways, I guess party leaders don't dish out kicks left and right, so I don't think people will either, but
still, it'd be pretty sad to take a bathroom break, and then get come back to see yourself kicked out of a party.

They do log you out if you

They do log you out if you are AFK for too long though. Do you guys know how long that time actually is though? (the time for the game to disconnect you form inactivity)

That doesnt help if the

That doesnt help if the leader is being a butthole. Perhaps just give people the option of selecting the leaders name and placing a strike next to it? After all three party members place their strikes next to the name, the leader gets booted. Of course, the leader cant see when someone wants to vote them off.

The problem arises when there are three people in the party. Is two people enough of a consensus to boot the leader? With a party of two people, the person can just go solo, but with three, its a different story.

Originaly this wasn't a problem as you could go solo and invite freinds, but now you get restricted T-T.

Lets try this... There is 4

Lets try this...
There is 4 members in a party.
The checkbox seems like a good idea. Instead of it kicking the leader, the group could move without him. It is like this...
Checking the box means that those members would go off to another party and still stay together while the leader is still there.
First person checks the box.
Second person checks the box.
Third person decides to stay with the leader.

Both the first and second person would go off into the depths with each other. This could be another means of "solo" but it is a group that part away from the leader.

Good idea there.

An idea for those of you who have to go AFK for a moment, kill yourself somewhere so that your party can at least move on. At worst they'll move on the next floor and you won't get your heat for the level, but at least they wouldn't have to kick you for idling about and preventing them from moving on. Just try being courteous about it, and they'll forgive you for it.

I like this, sometimes I too

I like this, sometimes I too wanted to split from a party of 4 and go with a friend, when none of us is the party leader.

This is never gonna happen, though

More people!

If we get more people on this thread, this is bound to happen. I just wish this idea could go in effect because it will help a bunch of people out.
We just need more supporters behind this idea!

A better method

I dont really have the best connection, thats why i usually start parties. What about this?
When you get to moorcroft manor and you are in a party you can go to the elevator and go by yourself but also invite the others.

I wouldnt like people threat me like do what i want or we will kick you. So the best option would be a button to go solo but also invite people in your party, if people want they will go with you but if not you will be going solo, no way back.

Thats for me the fairest solution

vote kick

Or the party mebers get to vote the leader out say im the leader and i disconnect or something the members would have a vote so say person b decides its too much i have to go he starts a vote kick giving the other members a yes or no option to kick out the leader. and on the title they should give a reason.

Lol kinda stole this from world of warcraft

I agree

You should be able to do this because some leaders want to just push some people around. i think that this should be come possible

I've been thinking about this

I've been thinking about this for a while; instead of a group kick, there should be a kill feature.
Here's what I think; each person could have a "summon scuttlebot button." this allows them to summon a scuttlebot right next to them. Then you could set it to target another player. It would be same as the tier, and do 5 bars of damage per hit. The person who made it also could make it target another player. This way, if the player is AFK, then they could be killed by the bot. If they are not, then they could just kill the bot with no problems.
I realize this would annoy some people (who wants to be chased by a suttlebot all the time), so there would be a 1-per-level spawn limit, where one person can call one scuttlebutt once per depth.

I think this is a batter solution because;
A) scuttlebots are pathetic, and easy to kill; if a teammate dcides to target another teammate for the heck of it with the bot, they could kill it easily.
B) kill AFK people quickly enough; then the party wouldn't have to wait forever to get on the party button.
C) Scuttlebot would vanish if the target dies.

Restrictions:
Scuttlebot spawn limit of 1 per person per level
Scuttlebot dies in 1 hit from it's target and creator.
Does not attack enemies

This is what I think is the best way to deal with afk's. If an AFK is kicked, then they have to waste energy to come back, even if they said they would be back soon. Plus, no one likes getting kicked, and it is not nice to do without warning.
A kill party member button would not work either; because if your group hates you, you will die.
This could also satisfy some people's want for pets. Having a little scuttlebot chase down a teammie.
As an Easter egg, 1 in every 10,000 scuttlebot summon would summon vanaduke instead to kill the player it targeted.
Don't ask where these ideas come from people....It just happens

I like Dark-Fantasy idea very much. Slayzz idea is kinda weird. I don't wanna know where it came from. Why not just make it so that AFK players are treated as dead? That would make allot more sense...

Yes. Do something about this. I've had to ditch several good parties because of leaders who decide to derp off, even if it means trolls summoning scuttlebots mid-arena on me. I know I would.

Either way, your idea is spot

Either way, your idea is spot on dark.
No scuttlebots! Just make it so that if the leader is AFK, they are basicaly "invisible". Also, you can summon a GM to kick AFK leaders.

Had a guy that was on-off DCing though, and helios couldn't kick him.
GM Helios; "I cant rightfuly kick someone who is present."
Psh I do it all the time. Equal opportunity.
