Also giant lichen colonies are such BS.
This danger room didn't go remarkably well. I got kinda swarmed a few times. But, well, jellies.

Aww, was rooting for ya to make it without dying. So close too =)
In that phase with the blast cubes, you kill the blast cubes quickly so the chain reaction friendly fires just about everything xD.
It's the spikes in the corners that make the room dangerous. Without those you could kite the jellies all day. (In fact, in T2 and T1 those spikes aren't there, unless they suddenly changed it.)
@Haematite Yeah, I got too used to kiting slimes endlessly in RJP and Lichenous Lairs. They're really nasty when they can catch you in a corner and swarm you.
@Zinqf Haha, yeah, just need to make sure I don't get caught in the explosions myself!
@Twiddle The spikes were definitely my nemesis in the room. That and the width of the corridor around the outside is about one block too tight for my liking; if it were just a smidge wider it would be a lot easier to shield-bump past the swarms of cubes.
I think you focused too much on blocking Nicoya, your shield took quite a bit of abuse.
You would have been better off shield bumping a few to take the pressure off, then block anything you can't immediately avoid.
Of course this may not be your playstyle and I'm definitely not telling you how to play, just offering advice that I hope helps.
Chroma series armor ftw.
@Vescrit There were a few places where I was trying to bump but was just a few pixels too far away to push them. A couple of the shield breaks were from getting stuck waiting too long for the spike plates to go down so I could make a hasty retreat, though.
Are a pain, but if you have the respawning blocks down, you can slip around them.
Thanks again for posting the video.
I've had problems with that style of danger room also. I tend to kite around dropping my ash of agni, you can put fire in the outer ring without breaking any of the respawning boxes, if you are careful. When I get in the rythm, I drop a bomb, wait for the spikes to drop, run around the corner dropping another bomb. When I'm out of the rythm, I have spikes up and monster all around me. lol
One of the things I like about your videos is that you, like me, aren't super elite and never make a mistake. I can think to myself "uh, you didn't want to do it that way" and then find out if I'm right or wrong. I can see the techniques you use to get yourself out of bad situations, something that the super elite players never get themselves into. Actually, I'm really not sure whether those "super elite" players are really that much better, or if they just don't post videos that have flaws in them.
Now, one thing I learned from your video is that apparently the wiki lists what the different danger rooms look like. I'm afraid I've been lax in reading the danger room pages since before the new danger rooms came out.
/me wanders off to read the wiki
Edit: /me wanders back
Huh, I don't think i've ever run into the bullet chain style danger room, and I didn't recognize the difference between the one ring and the two ring versions of the style in your video. I always wondered which kind I was going to get.
@Vescrit Yeah, there was a couple times where I slipped around where the respawning blocks were, but given that the explosive blocks respawn first it can be tricky to rely on.
@Algol-Sixty Really glad you like it. It's actually kind of odd, a lot of the gaming channels I subscribe to on youtube are run by people who are kind of terrible at games (like yogscast, for example). I upload basically everything I record, save for footage that gets eaten by crashes and glitches (which thankfully doesn't happen much these days since I switched to dxtory). I'm pretty sure that players like Zinqf are actually better at SK than I am, but it's definitely easy to look like a pro when you edit down hours of footage.
omg youre that guy whos SK videos i always watch! I never bothered remembering your name, but i remember your voice quite distinctly.
But yeah, ive made the mistake of underestimating jellies quite a few times
