I'm just curious, would an Ironmight plate shield with piercing defense max guard against an alpha wolver attack?

The only solution to Alpha wolvers is running away. Especially on the T3 iterations.

wow... why do so many people
wow... why do so many people have problems with alpha wolvers :s it's not so hard to walk trough a wolver den and NOT get hit once... (yes and i mean in T3, for some reason it's even more easy there)
if your shield brakes then you are just plain in the wrong place and SLOW... you can see them charging last year!! just run away and zig zag a bit so you can see what way he's charing so you walk the OTHER way thus dodging the attack. there are some occasions where he turns during charge but again if you are to slow to get caught (and stay) in the full charge well sorry but then you suck :s oh and an other thing, COMBO'S CANCEL THE CHARGE!!!!!
and i only use my shield to cancel my GF swing

Pretty much the only time I get bit by alphas is when they glitch out and do a turning three-bite attack, or warp during the middle of their attack. I really don't think they're supposed to be able to do either.

The only time alpha wolvers
The only time alpha wolvers hit me is in arenas where the group doesn't control spawns well and we end up with a full ring of turrets plus alphas. Then it's pretty much over ;) Oh, or if someone hits one while it's attacking and it teleports in the middle of an attack, sometimes that'll catch me too.
All the rest of the time, they don't touch me.

Ugh. Yeah.
Somehow, that one or 2 Alphas that remain when the turrets spawn almost always end chasing me.
Trying to run away from the alphas while dodging those polyp thorns while trying to kill them is fun fun fun. X-D

My Level 10 Aegis also breaks with the full 3 bites from a T3 Alpha Wolver. At least you only get some of the 3rd attack's damage, not the full deal. But as it is stated repeteadly, if you want to stay alive, you don't shield; you dodge.

I know that you are supposed to dodge; I was just curious if anything could defends against the alpha wolvers. According to the information, Ironmight with max piercing might be able to do this, if it normally can take two hits. Possible, but improbable
No. Even barbarous thorn shield and dragon scale shields and aegis break if all 3 attacks hit. The best defense against an alpha wolver attack is running away or to the side.
