New Character
If you do get a new character, any gear you had will have to be unbound. Although, if you send the gear to the second character and the first is deleted, is it still bound?

You could always email the GMs and very nicely ask if they can change it for you to something else. It's not guaranteed that they will, but if you explain your situation and be polite, they'll probably do it.
