I've played Spiral Knight before, and everything is going fine. But after I changed my computer to this one I can't start the game anymore. So I followed those seven celestial steps and currently doing the seventh step.

1. Minimum Requirements - passed
- Windows 7
- Java 1.6.0_29-b11
- Display 1366 x 768 (32 bit) (60Hz)
- 2.00 GHz processor
- Graphics: 358 MB (shared)
- Memory: 2048 MB RAM
- 88.3 GB free space

2. Video Card Driver - passed
Mobile Intel(R) 965 Express Chipset Family (Microsoft Corporation - WDDM 1.1)

3. Java - passed
Java 1.6.0_29-b11

4. Firewall - passed
Well, I turned it off.

5. Malfunctioning full-screen - I think . . .
Each time Spiral Knight about to started, my screen blinked a few times and then the game didn't start.
What's more, I've checked to 'HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\JavaSoft\Prefs\projectx' and what I got is only these two:

Name - Type - Data
(Default) - REG_SZ - (value not set)
language - REG_SZ - en

And since my screen resolution is kinda different, I've tried to changed it to 1280 x 768 and 1024 x 600 manually, tried to lunch the game one each, but still get the same result. So is it what you call "Malfunctioning full-screen"? How could I fix it? I don't have those registry you mention before.

6. Windows Shotgun Approach - have tried it . . .
Firstly, I was trying to start the game via Kongregate, and since you tell us to re-install, I installed the game manually, tried to start the game and got the same problem, uninstall and re-install the game, and tried once again to get the same result.

7. Am I having other technical problems? - idk, so am I?
So here I am, creating a new thread here. Is my problem really with the screen resolution? What should I do now?

Nope. $5 says if you check projectx.log it'll have a pixel format error. Luckily it should work with the Intel drivers off their site.

Ah, so that's it ...

Ah, so that's it! I thought while there is a name there means the driver is already installed. Alright, it's good now. Thanks.

There ARE drivers installed,

There ARE drivers installed, but unless you update them manually, they tend to be old and severely outdated. Luckily Intel kept improving the drivers enough to be mostly functional before the end of product life hit for that chipset. Anything pre-dating IntelHD is pretty much garbage when it comes to 3D games, but 965 just barely supports the minimum OpenGL functions to run SK.

I would recommend going into the advanced video options in SK and switch to compatibility mode if the game tends to crash on you. It'll turn off the transparency (bland looking slimes) and weather effects, but should keep it fairly stable.
