Hi guys I would like to start a competition where the competitors run FSC and Vana with proto helm, armor and shield, no trinkets, but get to pick their weapons of choice. The competitor invites one of the designated "spectator" and they run FSC together from the terminal and the spectator is not allowed to help. The run ends when the competitor dies once. As for now, the prize will be gold, blue and green regalia sets and it will either all be given to the single best run or a set each to three best runs depending on the interest.
If you guys think this will be fun or have some suggestions please leave a post :D

Rules:
All competitors start at the terminal, I will provide the lift to the terminal and assign a spectator to you. Please let the spectator die and do not revive him/her. The run ends once the competitor dies. The spectator will take note of where you died and revive you once that happens so you can reach the end of the stage and go on your merry way.
Required gear: proto helm, proto armor, and proto shield, no trinkets allowed
Weapons: Competitors are split into three groups, bombers, gunners, and swordsmen. At the beginning of the run, the competitor picks a role and is forced to only use what they chose, the number of weapons one can bring is two. Since i feel like its more difficult to just use bombs, bombers may bring up to four weapons.
How to win: survive the longest from your class.
Prizes:
One Rose Regalia Redux set (Gold, Blue, or Green) to the winner of each class. The person who went first and won gets to pick the color first.
Three additional prizes of 1 shadow key each for: the worst luck (no vitapod/pill drops for a long time), the most amusing run, and the most innovative.
Sign up by either friending Ninjakit and attach a message to indicate when you will most likely be on or just send me a mail to Munya.
Will take names for a week and finish runs with all the applicants. Basically ending next Saturday (12/10)
Note: There seems to be some confusion. There are three prizes one to each class so they don't conflict, gunning might be the easiest but it doesn't mean using swords lowers your chance at winning because you are not competing against other gunners. Also you don't need to reach Vana or beat him or anything you just have to survive longer than the other competitors so there will be a winner by the end of the competition regardless.

Not going to enter but here to lend support to the cause.
I did this about 1.5 months ago with Stompt and Corny, we did it out of whims and boredom and it was actually an unexpected fun ride. They started at Basil while I joined at the end of depth 26, the slight difference was only 2 weapons slots were allowed. No trinkets, full-fledged proto. Needlessly to say, I was the first to die and spoil the run :P ( as shown in the last screenie ).

I'm not sure if I'll get the chance to play with any of them again, but for the 4months I'm in this game, it's an honor to play with all my buds on the friendlist, especially the first 6 members of Finesse <3 ( Anly, Corny, Hetero, Scrapster, Sick, Me + Stompt the oddball ).

First off, it sounds fun.

Soloing it alone is one thing, but the monster HP difference between solo and two players is quite substantial. Someone who is used to pulling off awesome feats (like killing an annoying Trojan/Vanaduke Guard with a single charge attack) might fail and die instead. How about you test the health of monsters in both situations, see how much % they gain with another player and allow the contestant one/two trinkets to compensate? (trinket has to give damage bonus instead of ASI of course).
Are weapon UV's allowed?
Besides that, Giannii has a valid suggestion. If a spectator were alive as well he could trigger charges and fire breath from all the baddies down there, including vanaduke.

I remember doing this with my bot against my will on depth 24 fsc (the can't join till you reach depth 29 forced feature) he was full proto ;p. My attacks ended up doing 10 dmg each... it was painfully slow lol. Decided to use the rolling wheels to kill + shield bumping, gave in and died at the last part (spending 5 mins to just kill 1 slag... no way..).
This would be a piece of cake...

Spectators need to be unbiased "officials" who Munya can trust and who judge if you did well. Extra officials will give monsters more HP. So no, you cannot be a spectator unless you're Munya's friend and have been for quite some time.
Munya, could you and the spectators fraps the attempts and put them up to youtube? That would save the contestant's computer the strain of running it while playing.
To topic subject: aw, does it have to be a specialized class? I've always been a hybrid with all three types in my arsenal. I can't think of a sword that's decent against Vanaduke's last phase.

Proto Gear
I've done all of t3, FSC, and Vanaduke using a setup very close to your rules 2 weeks ago (For the lawlz). Proto Shield, 0* Default Armor, No trinkets, DA, AP.
But I never knew anyone actually cared enough about doing a 5 star weapon / 0 star everything else run of things...I'm serious. I recorded it but primary reason I didn't upload it is because many people I asked said that 5 star weapons make the attempt too "easy".
I can do another one if you want =)
I have two questions though...
1. Can I record it and upload it? Or do I have to take the spectator? XD
2. I used one Sword and one Gun to do my Full T3 FSC/Vanaduke no death solo. Keeping it to swords only or guns only really required?

I could try, never soloed vana and you make it harder though :P
suggestion: the spec has to suicide on the first shadow fire possible. It's up to the runner to revive the spec early so that he doesnt screw him up later during a battle. Wait until said battle to revive on purpose to gain invincibility frames, or wait on purpose to preserve all the health possible but have the spec as a minor obstacle at the center of the party button. The spec carries a fov/gf as well, so they can suicide early at the vana room, and be reived so that they dont have anything to do with that battle.
