Oh, yeah, right.

So they change it from 0.0000000000000000000000000001 %, to 0.0000000000000000000000000002 % ?

No, just no. You will NOT trick me into spending ANY more money on your STUPID gambling games!

SAKE. It is always like this. They make us spend a lot of money on new stuff, then later on; they change it, so that people who haven't wasted all their money yet, can have a bigger chance at getting lucky |:

This. Is not. A good. Patch, imo.

In one game, there was

In one game, there was terrible droprate of items. Everyone knew it but devs still clamed that droprate is fine. And every time they told us they multiply the droprate we all knew that it didnt matter since 0x2 =0 so no matter how much they would multiply it it was still 0.

Actually... A guildmate

Actually... A guildmate rolled about 20 boxes just yesterday and got himself a Toasty Wolver Tail. I'm going to guess the rates are probably much better.

But this is basically where Three Rings fails, yup. There's far too many examples of rather expensive things going down in price by Three Rings' action rather than the actual economy devaluing the items. I find it odd they just continue doing it rather than doing some more extensive testing and research before releasing those things; These things have already lost them several players.

Now watch some of the current featured auctions pop up again in 2 - 4 weeks for 1/4 the price, because there wasn't enough demand for the current ones at those prices. Maybe we'll even see permanent versions of those mask disguises, too.

.

@Biznasty:

reason why i just wont buy anything from OOO themselves anymore or i may buy during BS specials ...
shadow keys cost me 1500CE x25 which i cant sell at that ...
can understand why players are leaving since the company is basically ripping ppl off ...

it's the F2P model

Biznasty: "But this is basically where Three Rings fails, yup. My response: This is absolutely prototypical of F2P cash shop models.

1) Preview/hype up very rare item(cosmetic or otherwise)
2) Release item at extreme rarity through some kind of pseudo-gambling mechanism(lockboxes, some kind of treasure chest, etc etc.)
3) After initial sales, promo item through some kind of spending promotion(Featured auctions, etc.)
4) After promo sales, release more quantities of item at reduced price
5) Slowly phase out item, to return it at a much later date, and rotate a new item(s) in.

OOO is not doing anything particularly innovative. Is it quite frustrating to a playerbase? Somewhat. Is it economically successful? You bet your bottom dollar it is! Many F2P games with 'premium shop', 'cash shop', 'item mall', etc. follow this exact same model, and no matter how much players complain, rare items are constantly released in such a manner, because it makes companies money.

They are simply following a time-tested, dollar-proven model of extracting as much currency as possible from willing buyers. Cue shooting stars, rainbow, and "The More You Know" sign. ^^

Well it seems like people are

Well it seems like people are getting tons of scarves, wolver tails, etc by opening just 10 boxes in a row.

I've opened atleast 210 boxes before this patch, and what did I get? A ghostly aura...

.___.

OOO, Y U NO make this patch earlier!?!?!?

Except the fact that I've

Except the fact that I've seen about 10 different people with Wolver Tails in the past 3 days.

MUST.GRIND. FOR. SILVER KEYZ!!!!!!!!!!

Serious reply:

The rarity decrease seems to be higher than expected. I for one am going to work towards opening some more Lockboxes; try my luck with the 3 I have left. Who knows, I might actually get a Wolver Tail first try, if not maybe an aura or Halo or wings or....

Anyway with the price drop AND higher chance at them now, I'm goin for it.

Yes I realize that many people just bought them from the AH/OOO, but even then SOME people probably opened some.

It's also worth noting that

It's also worth noting that the same member of Guild who opened a Toasty Wolver Tail opened a Military Wolver Tail later the same day.
