I heard this in another thread, is it true? If so that means the best protection would come from armor without normal resistance, such as the drake scale line of armor?
Do mobs not do normal damage in t3? How should I gear myself for t3?

Most mobs inflict normal
Most mobs inflict normal damage. However, some mobs' attacks have multiple types like Normal/Shadow, or Piercing/Shadow. There aren't a LOT of them, so it shouldn't be an issue using armor that is mostly normal defence, like cobalt. However, stacking both defences mitigates more damage.

YEah I noticed this today,
YEah I noticed this today, just looking at the color of the health bars coming off. I noticed that red is equal to normal damage (note: there is a LOT of normal damage in T2 at least) Yellow is piercing, blue-green is elemental and dark purple is shadow. So it seems as though Normal protection isn't useless at all, but the most important type of defense.
Not many monsters deal Piercing... so no to drake scale line (UNLESS You are really clumsy and always run into spikes by accident...)
