As a P2P player I have to say I am absolutely outraged at the greed shown by the F2P community and OOO in allowing the price of CE to drop to unprecedented lows recently. I remember when prices were well over 7000cr/ce; at only 6500cr how am I supposed to make a profit selling CE in the market rather than grinding dungeons and actually playing the game?
Well I for one have had enough. I'm hereby calling for all P2P players to go on strike! Refuse to sell CE to these greedy F2P players, make them buy their own CE with real money if they want to craft gear!
O wait, now that I think about it I actually only bought an elevator pass, not CE. Disregard this thread.

This actually happened on Haven 76 when 2 guys were discussing how they piled up lots of CE when the price was 7k to resell and now they were losing money.
Laughed so hard I think they reported me.

Although I'm posting well after the last sentence Nicoya states...
I hate those other CE whiners saying its too high. You didn't pay, so you should NOT have the privledge of determining the price of CE. We all else can make a living, so why can't you >.> Is it because you are too busy whining and begging in haven to learn how the game markets work?
I do like that CE can get this high and hope it does hit 7.5k again. That way people will actually work to get farther in the game OR beg continuously until they realize that they aren't getting anywhere and just quit.

I still don't get why anyone would sell CE when I can honestly just make more money in a clockworks run. Why haggle with the players, unless you're a bad player and can't really make more than you buy on CE lol. And you my friend are a troll among trolls. Majority of SK are F2P, I am both in a way but I mostly support F2P over P2P. What we need OOO to do is for them to be in control of the god daRn economy. We are running the game basically. When will they get that DEMOCRACY IS BAD. IN REAL LIFE, COUNTRIES ARE SUPPOSE TO BE BY THE REPUBLIC, MEANING THREE RINGS IS THE GOVERNMENT AND THEY NEED TO BE IN CHARGE OF THE ECONOMY OTHERWISE THE GAME WILL GO IN CHAOS AND THEY'LL LOOSE THEIR PLAYER BASE. I'm waiting to see who's going to rise and become our spiral dictator once this game becomes a communistic game. *laughs maniacally*

I still don't get why anyone would sell CE when I can honestly just make more money in a clockworks run.
Many people who have money to buy CE do not have as much time to play. So, when they sell their CE for crowns on the exchange, what is really happening is that they are paying other people to play the game for pennies[*] per hour. In theory, both sides get what they want, F2P get CE, P2P get a boost to the game that lets them get around a bunch of grinding.
More important, OOO gets what they want. I suspect that the vast majority of people who have paid real money to OOO have done so only after playing the game for free for several days, if not weeks. The more F2P players there are, the more P2P they will get. F2P players also give free word-of-mouth advertising, make the game look more interesting because there are more people, make the PvP games more fun, make the AH prices more stable, etc.
[*] depending on which which typical CE package is bought, what the cr<->CE exchange rate is, how quickly the typical player can run floors, how many crowns the typical player earns, etc., it appears that F2P are paid somewhere between $0.10/hr to $0.50/hr for their crowns. Cleaver has said that the typical Puzzle Pirate F2P earns around $0.25/hr, but that was a few years back, I don't know how much that has varied.

Then, when I need to, I can buy the ce/recipies/materials I need :D

I will never understand
I will never understand management and marketing. Companies complicate me. I am so glad I am not doing accounting and instead becoming a teacher someday/sometime soon. But that's a bit sad. Neither both sides can ever truly be satisfied. One has to suffer in order for the other to be happy. And this cycle shall continue.

First of all, us F2P players are giving YOU our crowns to buy YOUR CE that YOU are SELLING. Just because we stopped buying CE doesn't mean you have to go and throw a fiss. We all got energy passes too now so we don't need to buy your crummy CE prices to do runs anymore.

You guys are the ones caving in to the low prices, we didn't do anything just like how we cave in to buy your high prices. If you don't like then go train at the training academy and then when you are finally skilled enough for at least Tier 1, then go to the clockworks and makes the crowns yourself my friend.

I never really spent 7k on CE
I never really spent 7k on CE tho. If not I'd just used my mist tank daily or every other day depending if I had enough. Now I can waste my day in the clockworks. I'm gonna stockpile CE after finishing off my to-be-crafted-5*, then raise prices. F2P is fine, as long as they stop whining after ever influx of CE by 1k crand play the game and stop begging.
Im slowly becoming P2P, and I think F2P actually deserves the high prices of CE for their whining of it when it will rise anyway.

Withing 1 week, raise CE price past 8k. That is the true spirit of the market.

CE prices might have blipped
CE prices might have blipped to 7k after the featured auctions ended, but last I checked they were around 6.5k again.
