Gates: disconnected at towns?

Right now, dumping minerals into a gate always builds from the surface down.

Even if you are dumping minerals in at Emberlight.

Right now, the arcade in each town has the same gates.

But when you enter, you always go into a different section, depending on the town you enter from.

The three towns may as well have different sets of gates. Build from Emberlight, and make a deep dungeon for yourself, without having to build down from the surface.

Pros: Gives people at the bottom easier ability to do things, especially when the population is low.
Cons: May act to segregate players.

Pro and Con: Makes it easier to dig deeper; that may be unwanted.

This is actually a pretty

This is actually a pretty interesting idea. The thing is, though, that when the game launches, reaching the core is going to be a much bigger deal than just getting a bunch of treasure boxes.

Another concern I have is that since all the high-end geared players will be down in Emberlight, Haven and Moorcroft may end up neglected, possibly to the point of not having any gates that reach the next town.

We can always think about a solution.

Actually, if the city transfer gates where, instead of the ardcade, random generated lifts apart from the arcade, you could let people try to do a 100% rum from haven to the core, nostop, without loosing progress midways.

When everyone is at deep

When everyone is at deep towns, new players might have a shorter supply of gates. Worse than that, though, is when getting to the mid-depth towns. It's always the mid-level towns that are the most empty because those are the ones everyone is simply passing through. You would have to warp back up to Haven and save your minerals, depositing them only in the next town, and even once you've deposited minerals, you have to go back to Haven anyway just for something to do.
