Hello again, with my proto vana competition winding down I would like to host a fashion show :D

rules are simple: wear your look, strut your stuff, and win prizes
there will be a panel of judges and the highest scoring characters will win

I am debating between single, duo, or group competitions. For single competition the prizes will probably be accessories with a dusky scarf as the first prize, for duo it'll be a pair of jelly crowns, one royal one ice queen, for group any suggestions?

Probably going to host it either this sunday or saturday. Leave a message if you guys have some suggestions or think the community is too unruly to pull this off XD

Ideas: Catwalk will be the stretch of road in the Bazaar (the stairs up and down)

I think it's a great idea.

You should probably make categories or rules so it's not just rich people wining with halos, wings etc. Perhaps prizes for each armor type like divine, gunslinger, vog, etc.

It underestimates my actual gear level, but I like the look.

Sounds interesting.

An accessory seems like a fitting prize for a fashion contest.

I would think singles would get more people to join (myself included). Or maybe have categories. Though that means you'd need a lot more prizes, so I can see why you'd just choose one.

I will have multiple accessories, cat ears, flowers, basically cute stuff that i had in my inventory cuz i like them :S, for prizes for places that's not first, I was thinking about having silent categories so ppl wont try to go for them on purpose but instead just bring their original look. Also since I'll be picking my judges (they are a bunch of weirdos) i highly doubt the most expensively accessorized characters will win

Maybe for the groups...

a different alchemer, brandish, or haze bomb for each person in the group, like if you went with brandishes then someone would get a nightblade, someone gets a fireburst, someone gets a iceburst and someone gets a shockburst.

Also.. I highly hope this is a contest on how it looks, not how expencive it looks... I by all means am not a rich player, I use what I have.

Although, I can assure you my costume is one-of-a-kind. ;)

A dusky scarf would look amazing on the costume if I got it *q*...

@MUNYA: Please make the time of the contest EST friendly, I'd hate to miss out on it 'cause it's 8pm PST and I need to be in bed before then ;/ (Ahh strict Asian parents..)

Personally for me 7:30-10:30pm EST would be the best. I'll be most likely competing in the duo category.

Can we enter in more than 1 category, also can we submit more than 1 costume (with a max. of course, don't want to abuse rofl) or maybe have 1 variation of a costume (changing the shield, cap/mask OR suit/armor)?

I'm so so thrilled that the 1st prize for duo is the Jellies crowns! I've been wanting, ever since I saw the Ice Queen helm, to get those matching helms for my bf and I~ <33 Unfortunately, we have yet to efficiently and successfully run a Vana run so...yeah. lol

Suggestions:
Screen shot competition. To make it easier to view, and more accessible to all timezones, and so even those not participating can see the results.

2nd Suggestion:
High Rollers comp (with no prize, b/c really, me nor Hadn nor Pawn nor Mbcscp need somethign for free) that takes UVs into account too. (or at least with UVs being the tiebreaker in case of a tie :)

Categories :
I like the idea of categories. and given the winter season there should definitely be a competition for who can make the best looking "Winter Weather gear"
"Hunter Themes:
Slime Slasher
The Beast Tamer
The mechanic
The Troll (that hunts gremlins)
Fiendish Fiend

Season Themes:
Winter Weather
Blazing Sumer
Sweet Spring
Fantastic Fall < really not sure what this one would look like XD

UV's:
I don't think UVs should really be counted, unless they actually play a part. example : for the Winter Weather gear a max freeze resistance would make tons of sense ^_^

Accessories :
it doesn't really the cost of an Accessory, it matter's how its used
an example is my prismatic wings < honestly they're only about a quarter of their awesomeness without the matching prismatic halo.

And as far as Prizes go, Im willing to volunteer a complete armor makeover. You give me a armor set, or tell me the parts, and then give me a color scheme (not one of the rare ones) and Ill trick it out nicely ^_^.
Or They can get a discount at my store.

I would also like to point out that UVs on weapons should again count if it really matters. an example would be someone submits a Knight for "The Troll" but the only thing that makes him a gremlin crusher is the fact that hes got High Gremlin damage on everything. meaning his gear has zero-gremliny ness to it (ie a darkfang shield is the ultimate Gremlin themed shield)

Oh! Armor lines

The categories could be based on particular armor families to!
Wolver
Cloak
Armor (like cobalt/plate/etc)

There could also be a Mix and match competition and a self proclaimed theme
For mix and match you have to use completely different Armor pieces, so you couldn't use a Skolver cap with a snarble body.
And For self proclaimed they would have to sum there costume up in one word, that isn't a armor name already ^_^.

I do think that there shouldn't be a High roller class. it would kinda go against the purpose of being thrifty and stylish if all you do is staple money to yourself XD

I shall enter the epicness that is my Jelliton (Jelly helm and skelly body with a punkish style of my own)! Although if I win the dusky scarf the jelly helm I have would look nicely with it along with my spiral brigadier (OMG Yes, someone actually picked that armor as a starter armor :o!)

The only chance I have at a rare accessory, so I'm shooting for it. Best of luck to all though! =)

Let's do it by screenshots plz. That way we can include the screenshots that we like, and then you can (well it is possible) to edit all the screenshot links into the 1st post. Also that way some people (Hadn, Vainsacrifice, etc) could submit several screenshots for our consumption. Even if we have to choose one entry, i'd like to see the several outfits people consider their 'winners'. I know Vain has several good costumes, as well as some other people.

Everyone could get their pics in by saturday, and judging could be done sunday :)

one. there are photoshop gods, coupled with spiral spy
two. Its a show. where's the runway when you put in screenies.
three. its a nice thing when players get together someplace. i miss the days when there was no AH, people hanged out at Bazaar and trapped Snipes on a corner.

welp it would seem that i have a lot more work than expected, gonna be swamped with final projects and finals and what not, so this might not go as planned. I don't particular like the idea of looking through screenshots to determine a winner so I was going to go for a competition with a make believe runway. the competition will be postponed until after my finals and vacation so I'll make a post to update around beginning of January. Sorry to postpone this but at least it'll give ppl time to prep?
