Devilites have faster shots, less of a warning, and can more easily swarm you so stop complaining about retrodes.
Devilites. Darkfang Thwackers come in second with their damn spin attack.
Devilites are no problem for me.
It's those Mechaknight mobs that are a living hell.
Devilites and Alpha Wolvers.
I instinctively shield when I see an opponent charge an attack, but with Alpha Wolvers, if I shield, they break it easily (or get incredibly close to breaking it). Devilites don't give me enough warning to shield in time.
Tier 3 Beryl (Thunder) Greavers, there is no running. You can't hide your wife. You can't hide your kids. GG.
Devilites are harder to counter then retrodes... (good tip stend on a ledge, they can't hit you)
Devilites have faster and (i thin) further range. most of the times they are just imposible to shield against (or you keep running around to find an opening but then again your swarmed THERE IS NO OPENING aaaaaaaaaaargh *die* ragequit and take some time to decide if you'll take an other shot at it haha)
@Sushh first time i died a REALY painfull death, then i learned they stop the attack with EVERY hit. so when a greavers starts charging just slap him with a sword and they'll behave ;) (oh and IF they attack RUN! the cloud will keep zapping you like crazy... so move over and hit the first bugger you can)
@Anakletos when they start the charge up run away (and kite around them don't run in a straight line, most of the time they won't turn during attack) don't shield because you'll loose speed and the charge will catch up to you. (just give some T2 wolver dens a try before going into T3 ones, once you get the hang of it it's easy as pie) oh and also depends on what sword you use (and if it has ASI) if you can finish the combo it will stop the charge up (or if it connects in time the charge itself) i now use my gran faust against wolvers with ASI verry high and it works super against them (and it's awsome against crowds -> again super for wolvers where the piercing sword just trusts forward)
i don't know every monster is kind off easy to counter but devilites just are anoying i can't seem to find a good counter :s (and with slow swords they are just HELL to hit)
Devilites, Grimalkins, and Retrodes. The rest you can stand and put a fight. Alphas when they bite, just run. Don't bother shielding with them. Devilites constantly throw and dodge, Grimalkins are... ugh... Retrodes, especially in distanced groups, can cause some havoc. Mechaknights and Phantoms are pretty fun enemies to me. However, rocket pups are the crazy ones for me, especially when they fill up a whole danger room full of Oilers.....
@Kickthebucket: Alpha Wolvers theoretically shouldn't be hard for me, its just my first reaction. It annoys me because after I my shield breaks that I KNEW I should of simply ran instead of shielding, yet I instinctively (tried to) block anyways. It grinds my gears because I feel like I'm falling for the same prank over and over again.
Devilites and status Kats. I just can't dodge those stupid Devilites effectively, so I end up Shivering them all, hit a couple, Shiver again, rinse and repeat. Long and annoying process, but works pretty well in groups. Status Kats aren't too bad, unless there's a clump of them, and then I'm too busy dodging projectiles to hit them. I'm a wuss like that. ):
@Sushh, i always loled at that video
Indeed, Retrodes are hard to fight against. They have that beam and can do it with numbers on their side (tip: circle around them). But its not the beam i hate. I've been playing since first release and until now, i cant time my shielding properly with their melee attack (yes i evade most, but after this long, it still happens). Its because the actual damage hits before they finish the swipe, and because they can turn around fast while locked at you when attacking.
Bomb Gremlins are tough for someone like me who prefer slow swords. Timed correctly though, two to three swipes is all it takes from Gran Faust. But again, when numbers show, the hell with the floor littered with mines. When shielded and trying to escape, the bombs push you around till you reach your initial location, and poof! It became Koko Krunch!
Tortodrone, i hate you. Ur still not around.
Lastly, I love/hate Love Puppies. They will heal you, whats not to love? but in the end when you have to kill it for the drop (or to continue on with the events of an arena) you will be on a tug of war against yourself (until an idiot party member whacks it without consent).
You all forget Rocket Puppies, when there's 8 of them in an arena, you're pretty much screwed.
I hate Tier 2 Skull Monsters(Elemental Fire) PLEASE STOP THIS MADNESSSSS!!!!!!
I hate Tier 2 Skull Monsters(Elemental Fire) PLEASE STOP THIS MADNESSSSS!!!!!!
a divine avenger whacking at them while they chase someone is bliss!
especially having to wear a divine veil and my DA has bonus to fiend High...
they break in two swings...
I want to put Greavers and Retrodes in the same room, and watch them slaughtering each other.
With one Rocket Puppy or two thrown in for good measure.
Howlitzer. They appear a lot more then I like and they are annoying even when dead.
The worst combination of enemies I've ever encountered (slightly off topic) was an arena room at d26 with Shock Greavers and Devilities with 2 Butterflies. If you ever got shocked, you were dead, period.
Retrodes aren't so bad as long as you have a gun, I prefer Alchemers because the bullets bounce off and Gremlins dodge bullets all the time... meaning Gremlins will attack or use abilities less :D
+1 to Devilites and Greavers being monsters that grind gears. Especially a swarm of Greavers. Dirty dirty Greavers. >(
Devil-ITs. they come from a shock version of hell.
greavers are a piece of cake, so i guess the other porblem i have are jellies
@Anakletos haha friend of mine has the same problem i think (only he still insists piercing swords are the ultimate alphawolver extirmenators haha) thing is ever since i use slow swords i always take my time :D (again a reason why i rather go solo most of the times) i keep far away from them untill they finished an attack (then i know i have a few second window) and get in a combo and most of the times i can keep going on them :D (but for 3 hit swords it's harder to get the combo done before it attacks)
all in all wolvers are for me the most fun monsters (and give good mats hahaha)
As a Bomber, fudge EVERYTHING about them.
Dern Devilites throw faster than you Charging your Bombs & none of the Demo Suits Protect against Shadow Damage.
And dem Wolvers always moving Behind you & Gnawing at your back 'till you're dead. Again, the Demo Suits offer no Protection from Piercing.
(They also Resist Elemental Damage, so my Blazebrand's useless against them, other than the fact that the Fire makes up for it.)
...
Good thing I've got my Twisted Spine Cone to deal with them. :D
For Specific Types, I've got to say Devil-IT's & Ashtails. Shock is DEADLY against Bombers & my Blazebrand's Fire won't affect the Ashtails, so I gotta Dodge them, while Charging my Bombs, hoping I don't get caught on Fire, making me Unable to Charge mah Bawmbs.
I'll run it down for you guys about how to tame these monsters that you so call difficult. The reason why I say retrodes is because I have a 3* calibur which is maxed at T2/no UV. So in comparison, if it were T3 and I had a leviathan it would be the same. This is past after terminal or 1 depth before terminal. My main character is a bomber and I am referring to him. And so, since I do not do bonus damage nor have any elemental gear for retrodes, it takes a while to take them down. Even if I chain lock my calibur/leviathan, I will need at least 2 chain lock charges and maybe 1 swing in order to defeat ONE retrode.
I didn't mention devilites since you CAN tame them. It's the order of how you exterminate them. Pit Bosses are the key to taming devilites. It's best to leave overtimers for after killing the devilites. What you do is push a pit boss close to them, wait until the devilites switch from offensive mode to "cowering behind their hands mode" which is what the pit boss's job are for. The devilites are out to play, because the bosses are away! ;) Now watchu do my friend is make sure that the boss is near, when they go in that cowering position attack with out fear. Overtimers don't get affected so it's best to leave them for after killing the devilites. But it depends on how many, if it's more devilies devilites first, if it's more overtimers, overtimers first. (estimation). Once all the devilites and overtimers have been exterminated, the pit bosses will change to devilites meaning they are free to play and so now you just exterminate with caution. I haven't figured out all the cycles of their transformations since sometimes it varies but this is a little hint to help you guys out.
I run like the rat I am from alphas. STUN IS VERY GOOD ON ALPHAS. It stops their 3 chain lock bites to a maximum of 1 or 2 and it is very slow. Love my haze burst in arena but you idiot pick up groups do not sync in with me bombing and kite like the idiots you all are causing polyps to spawn because you could've killed them all in one group rather than killing them scarced.
Greaver mobs: Troika and flourish line are the best and easiest way to kill them in mobs since it has range from the little smog they leave behind. Troika line is really sexc to use on them.

@Kitty-Softpaws i never kill pitbosses (or they have to change normal devilites into overtimer, in that case take him out)but most of the time you won't have the luxery to wait at a safe spot untill they convert 80% to yes-men (only thing they do i heal the pittbosses and turn into overtimers if you kill the pitboss) so when there's 5 overtimers and 5 devilites (devil-IT's even worse) you'll be pretty much F**** trow in a few floor hazards and you have yourself the biggest deathtrap in the game.
greavers don't have much health so even with a levi they die with 2 or 3 hits (i can even handle them with a gran faust so they aren't hard to deal with) they just do TONS of damage WHEN they get the chance to hit you.
and to Ironskullkid my suggestions where made for swordsman. but i can see that they can be a pain in the ... for bombers, think you have to place a bomb and try to lure it into a trap. i don't play with bombs so my advice is as good as worthless haha
For me, its gremlin demos, rocket puppies and slag guards
My least favorite are Devilites since I can never dodge their attacks. They are just too fast with not enough warning of an attack. They are worse when I'm trying to deal with a monster and they attack long range from behind.
After them, any kind of Gremlin is a pain, but that is because I recently started and only have elemental weapons. Even if I use non-elemental weapons I'd still hate the Gremlin Demo. However, I will say that I love running into scorchers because their attack is so ineffective.
Greavers are a pain for me too, but they aren't too bad. Typically they are bad if I step into them unprepared.
EDIT: forgot to mention Wolver Alpha. I hate those guys, but they aren't too bad if you work in a group. One guy runs in circles with a mob after him. Everyone else attacks from behind.
omg how in gods name could i forget T3 rocket puppies hahaha xD
gremlin demo's are just anoying haha (T3 arena last wave... USE ALL THE BOMBS!!
(realy need to make a meme about that haha)
I hate the gremlin demo. He tosses so many bombs...
At least the shield can protect you.
However, retrodes are the second worst. Their sneeze attack and the fact they always push you around get quit annoying and ragey.
This post is irrelevant OP, they are now nerfed.
And the worst part? They're sneezing on you.
Ew.
Can I equip a box of tissues as my shield?
