So I want to trade with someone I don't know/trust/whatever but we can never seem to be online at the same time. Maybe we live in different states, time zones, countries and so forth. Well its almost impossible to find them to trade what we need too!

So yes, someone can send crowns and hopefully they send the item via mail yet you don't want to risk it.

So why not a trade system via mail? Say I activate a trade with someone and I select the items, then send it. They receive the trade mail, select the crowns/items too then click confirm and send it back. If everything is a-okay then I select confirm and the items are traded between the two happy knights.

Now we don't have to play spiral knight tag via mail or get up at 3am when they will be playing.

Thanks for your time.

I like and support the

I like and support the idea.

But I mean when you send mail to someone you don't really get the chance to say, hey you cannot open this until you send me what I want back..

An auction house would still be easier >.>

The point is that he CANNOT

The point is that he CANNOT open the mail, the mail is locked for him, until he has sent his part of the trade (and by doing so agree on what the other guy sent) and the when the other guy gets his mail, he has to click accept, then both players will be able to open there mail with the traded stuff.

In Kingdom of Loathing, this

In Kingdom of Loathing, this was the singular way of trading without using the auction house. It works pretty much exactly as the OP suggested.

It also costs nothing to use, as opposed to the cost of the mail system now.

This is absolutely a good idea.

Yeah, the item would be

Yeah, the item would be locked until both parties agree to the items in play. And yes, no cost to the player would be nice.

This should already be in the

This should already be in the game. Also, there would need to be an option for how long you want the mail to be in someone's inbox before it is auto-returned. It'd suck if the person wanted to grief you and just kept your items in the mail and/or he stopped playing.

Of course, you'd have to set

Of course, you'd have to set like a 24 hour time limit for any trades through the mail system.
