It might be a stupid thought, but eh, my recipes are all messy with all these crappy recipes I'm never ever ever going to use D:
Who else thinks it would be good if we could unlearn recipes?

An easy way for people to turn a huge profit. Learn a recipe, especially like a 5* one, use it once, then sell it. You'll have the extra crowns to buy it back if you ever need to. It would get abused really badly.
If you are having trouble finding a learned recipe, have you tried using typing in your particular recipe's name in the in-game search bar?
I'm not saying your idea is bad, just unneeded. Besides, you never know if you'll never use them, and it's not necessarily negative to keep them(Outside of what you mention, but you can weed out the "crappy" recipes from your preferred recipes with the search bar anyway.) And you probably bought some of them anyway, so why waste the crowns spent for them awhile back and get rid of them?
(Probably better to move this thread to Suggestions too.)
Perhaps an item sorting. something like the ability to click on an item to hide it from your list. Then you can press a button up top to show all.
Why? I hacked your account. Un-Learn all recipies. If we get them back as an item, I sell them or trade them or gift them or steal them. See the problem?
Why are so many people assuming that the OP wants to get a recipe back when they forget a recipe? It sounds to me like they just want to delete it.
That said, this belongs in the Suggestions forums, or better yet, bump one of the many older threads on the same subject adding *new* information that hasn't already been covered.
why not have it like accessory's? when you unbind it, it is destroyed. preventing it from unbalancing the market and still gives you the option to sort out your old stuff.
See the problem?
If someone hacked your account I'd think you would have bigger problems than potentially losing learned recipes. It's hardly a valid reason to object, unless you also want to make it impossible to do stuff like sell items.
But then Haematite's spin on the idea should satisfy even this problem.
I meant deleting the recipe from memory, thats it. No recipe regaining
I actually do not see the benefit of forgetting a recipe.... anyone care to explain what is the reason one would unlearn a recipe and not getting it back as an item?
If you use a recipe and you know you won't ever need it then you might as well get rid of the darn thing like my vile striker recipe i ain't gonna make some more vile strikers when i already have one made and i have useless recipes like dusker cap that i have used and don't need anymore so i might as well get rid of it
see what i mean???
I think it would be nice if you could mark certain recipes as "to-do" or something, and have the others collapse into a half-height list entry or something, so you could easily flip through the list and keep track of what you're building.
Also would be nice if there was a visual indication in the list itself of which recipes you have all the material/energy/crowns/precursors to craft.
But fully unlearning? Don't think that would be too useful.
you guys obviousely dont have like 40 recipes that you want to unlearn cause they're useless cause you left a certian guild or something of that matter
Ok, if it's just a line of code then why not?
But bothering with this instead of more usefull things....
Yeah, many recipes clustered looks bad but it doesn't do anything bad to you. Just adds some seconds to find what you want.
Buy. Learn. Craft. Forget. Sell.
...Why does that sound like something you would hear in a Commercial?

That being said, I'd like this if only to forget the recipes for some equips I've never wanted to use (e.g. Umbra Driver, Nightblade, Chaos Cloak, etc.)
This would be extremely useful for me, as I don't want another prismatech , shadowtech, or magic hood. Also, I am mildly OCD, and those unused recipes are bugging me.
Maybe there should be a second list where the "forgotten" recipe go and can be "remembered". making an option to archive the recipe and there would be a separate menu where all the "forgotten" recipe go. So the at alchemy machine there would only be the non-archived ones are listed
If you don't want them you could post them for auction or give them to basil or any of the NPC's before learning at least you'd get crowns for it instead of learning them by accident.
My thoughts regarding learning recipies:
I think there's an option when selected the game warns you when you are attempting to learn a recipe. But it would be a good idea to unlearn a recipe in case you learned by accident.
