Anyone know the drop rates of the rare crafting items such as sword stone, iron gear etc. And also how does party loot work? Is it shared evenly or whoever kills the monster?

In a party the materials are

In a party the materials are randomly assigned to a player in the party. With heat and crowns, if one person picks it up everyone else gets the same amount.

I have no idea about the drop rates of individual materials, but your more likely to find them the deeper you go

I don't believe that all

I don't believe that all materials are randomly assigned throughout the party.

I was with some guys on a jelly run yesterday that I really didn't deserve to be on, and wasn't dealing enough damage to keep up with them or killing as much. I noticed that I got very few materials, like a fraction of them. Or if I got anything it was colored shards, but even then not in the quantities that they were getting.

I don't think it's round robin, I think the game keeps some sort of internal ranking and awards more mats to people who contribute more.

But unclesporky, that isn't

But unclesporky, that isn't quite true.
You see, when I died at one point in t3 and couldn't do anything because it was an arena, I got more mats than my teammates did.

It IS random distribution,

It IS random distribution, and as a result .... you'll see true randomness. That doesn't mean "guaranteed fairness." It means once in a while, things will divide up pretty evenly, but then again, you'll occasionally see one team member go on a particularly lucky winning streak, and (by the same token) another will lose spectacularly.

The idea is that it will average out for you over time.

another theory on the

another theory on the distribution:

the first damage dealer determines who gets the mats..atleast thats what i noticed. I noticed that most of my teammates usually deal dmg first and i provide support fire. I never got mats. I tried shooting first and i left the monster to my teammates and i received the mats when they picked it up.
