Automatically dump inventory when ascending

Everyone's seen this - a party reaches an elevator and one guy goes up without ditching their Vitapod, vials and pills. In my experience it's usually just people being forgetful, or not knowing how to drop their items, but some people get really upset about it, and it is kind of rude, and inconvenient to the remaining party members.

So, my suggestion is simple - have the game automatically dump this stuff outside the elevator on the next level.

It is acceptable, but also abusable.

Kick player, steal stuff. Though, that's a douche move.

@Oceanprince I think the idea is that this would only happen if someone clicks "return to haven" on the elevator. Instead of their pickups dropping inaccessibly on the previous level, they'd drop on the following level where the remaining party members could pick them up.

easy answer

Kicking a players doesn't make him drop his stuff. It's different than when soemone leaves willingly to haven.

Nicoya-Kitty's got the idea; rather than the current system, where stuff is dropped in the previous level, the departing player's gear would appear on the next one instead. Sorry if that wasn't clear. Kicking a player wouldn't free up their inventory.

Definitely for this.

Definitely for this. Especially if the group is having a difficult time, it can be really depressing to see several health capsules pop onto the lift and vanish into nothingness.

Extension to this idea - have

Extension to this idea - have mini icons next to each player to indicate who has what pickups so we can see who has been hoarding and mysteriously swallowing unholy amounts of pills.

I dunno about that - I don't really think you should be able to see other players' inventories. The current setup encourages communication and coordination between players, particularly in the run-up to boss fights, because players have to request and volunteer information on what they're carrying. And besides, you'd get players pestering teammates for stuff ("give pill plz uv got 3" for ever) and potentially even party leaders kicking players for refusing to share their hard-earned and carefully-rationed inventory.

I have been on a team where NO one wanted to share health pills with me. So I struggled to survive with no healing abilities. I didn't do bad I must admit.

I got ONE early on and another player asked me for it. I said, "Excuse me for not dying."
