I'm going to be the coolest gunner around. :P

I'm using two guns (no swords and bombs. duh?) for my character. I'm currently using the Autogun line (normal dmg) and the Magnus line (piercing dmg), but I'm still doubting if I go that way since some say the Autogun series is not ideal for full-time gunners (It's rapid shot isn't ideal for the Gunslinger gears, and it has normal dmg also which isn't ideal for full-time gunners).

I'm planning to have two guns with contrasting powers, each with different uses. What is the best combination? I want suggestions from veteran gunners. :(

If you're only going with 2

If you're only going with 2 gun slots get two alchemers. One should be elemental and one should be shadow. At higher levels their bounce can really add up the damage. This should give you a nice coverage of elements and you won't even be doing grey damage plus you still have all your movement.

I chose the alchemer that has can apply freeze since it doesn't cause enemies to go crazy like some status efects.

If you buy a 3rd weapon slot, I would use the Magnus then. Magnus is a good gun, but be careful while using it as it leaves you very very open.

As a gunner, you need to capitalize on enemy weaknesses or you won't be doing enough damage.

Thanks!

Thank you!

Another question: What is the best gun partner for Umbra Driver (Shadowtech)--I have one which has UV for Jellies--in case I'll be using two guns only?

Well if you can get it, a

Well if you can get it, a Silversix/Argent Peacemaker will hit the monsters that the Umbra Driver is weak to (Fiends/Undead).

But having multiple guns and rotating them out is probably a better idea, since the Umbra Driver/Argent Peacemaker combination leaves you with no status support.

Veteran Gunner Wannabe opinion :-)

I'm not a veteran gunner YET but so far I'm doing well soloing to Emberlight with Super Blaster + Magnus. I have Cryotech Alchemer MkII but it doesn't work well with any of my two other guns. I'm going to test it again as soon as I put my hands on Blackhawk (I know recipe but can't get enough tokens to buy Antigua so far).

cryo driver

There's a dramatic change when it reaches cryo driver, u have a near 50% chance of freezing and they work well against construct and undead, these 2 are actually one of the strongest 'pack' of monster other than oiler.
The extra bounce and freeze definitely slow the pack down a lot and those monster wont even dodge ur hits, making it a 100% hit and freezing at least one monster.
I'm a dual bomber with cryo as my 3rd slot, definitely a gun thats worth buying!

Thanks.

Nice combination. I'll try out all the guns I can get my hands on to see which fits best me. :)
