Guys, I have a couple of questions about shock, and I hope you can spare me a minute or two.

I've heard that it's a really great status effect, being a mix of damage and crowd control, and it works great against mecha knights (and Spiral Knights too!), but my question is this: is it actually useful against other monsters? I have not actually ever seen, say, a lumber, a jelly, a gun puppy or a zombie ever get its attack interrupted by shock despite people spamming them with gigawatt pulsars. Maybe it's just me, but it'll be nice to have this clarified. Thanks!

^indeed

gigawatt pulsar spamming on gun puppies and rocket puppies is the best example (very common on one of the rooms of Charred court during FSC run)

someone with a Voltaic Tempest saved me from a lumber when it stopped before it can initiate a swing.
It also stopped a Giant Lichen colony's AoE attack before it kills the last person in our party...
It will also lessen Alpha wolver and Gremlin Demo jumps..

but anyway, with shock, results always vary as the 'hiccup' when shock happens is pretty random

by the way, i hear from a friend that shock killed Vanaduke for them whilst they were running around for their lives.

<3 Shock

Shock is a status effect that is very useful
-Shock causes elemental damage
-Shock only causes damage at regular intervals, and stops any movement or initiating attacks
-Shock deals AoE damage (i.e. one shocked mecha knight surrounded by 4 regular mecha knights. The 1 gets shocked and the other 4 take damage from it, but do not recieve the status effect)
-Shock can interupt ANYTHING the player is doing
-Shock can be shielded against by players
-Shock does not work against shock-stratum monsters

All in all, shock is meant for tight-nit groups of multiple enemies. It is very useful against contructs and undead due to the elemental damage, it is weak against wolvers and gremlins. It is very useful in arenas and RJP due to the mass of enemies (mini-jellies).

Enjoy!

Also on the AoE damage

If you have a crowd of minijellies ALL shocked, about one interval of shock might be enough to kill them all. Shock can cause massive amounts of damage in tight nit groups, better with smaller enemies. Therefore if you want to fight a boss, I would reccommend fire as a better pick (Exlcuding JK because of his mini jellies

One thing to note about shock is that it stops pushback sometimes and screws up timing. I love shock, but you should be extra careful when you use it.

About the pushback effect...

Sometimes the pushback effect not happening during Shock can be helpful if you have teammates using the Calibur line. Eating all 3 hits from a Wolver'd Cold Iron Carver/Ascended Calibur is almost enough to outright kill most jellies.
