Really it's not.

It is about the posts about energy though. I did a search on "energy" and boy is there a lot of results. Reading through several (just to see what has been said in the past) has revealed a bit of a trend amongst many energy naysayers.

Many, not all so don't get your panties all in a bunch, talk as if they are twelve years of age. because they dont know what grammar or puncuation are and have no idea that there is a period anywhere but thats ok because sentences dont need them right because we can all read this ok and understand because its how we speak o well.

Sorry for that.

Also, I read a super interesting post that read as follows:

"Right now at 18:03 me and my friend (name deleted to protect the innocent) are just walking around town waiting for Energy.... You guys should propably change the Mist Energy's Regenerator bcoz its very slow and when ur a newbie (im not saying a noob) u lose all your energy u have nothing to do...

WHAT?! Do people really run out of ME and then just hang out in game waiting for more? It takes 22 hours for your energy to recharge. Please, read a book, watch a movie, do your homework, clean your room, take a shower, exercise, eat, get a paper route (and use the money to buy CE :D ), go say hi to your mother, I am sure she misses you. I worry about your health young one, try opening the blinds. Call your girlfriend and go for a walk in the park. Steal a kiss when no one is looking. Play ball with your Fido, and take him for a walk also. Hell, play ball with your girlfriend too.

Really, I do worry for you :(

I'm a girl, but sure, having a girlfriend would be nice
But I agree with you. I don't know what users do with their energy, but you can spend an hour playing with a full mist tank. Craft on weekdays, do runs on weekends.

yeah

Respect to the spectre.

There are things to do that aren't videogaming. Personally, I think the 100 ME limit is a nice way to discourage people from getting addicted.

People could always just

People could always just offer crafting services, and ask for small energy tips.

Might as well help people get items while you sit around doing nothing.

Agreed. I know of some

Agreed. I know of some people who charge 10% of the cost of the item they're crafting in energy, and craft up to 4 star. Granted it's a dangerous prospect trusting someone to rank up an item to make a 4 star item, paying them up front from scratch, but there are in fact some people out there who are trustworthy. And guess what, the energy you get from crafting tips lets you adventure more!

Energy Solution and Future Crisis

Sure, people may complain about the daily 100 energy now, but as they play, they can purchase more energy with crowns. As they go deeper in the Clockworks, they may be able to acquire enough money to keep purchasing more frequently. The only counter-production of that is that with the energy market being user-ran, the price for crystal energy will keep rising and rising where it will be nearly impossible to buy energy with Crowns and, instead, must use Dollars/Pounds/et cetera.

If the 100NRG per day is supposed to help lower addicts, the designers were wrong. Addicts would keep playing, buying energy when possible.

The prices will only rise as

The prices will only rise as far as the player base will allow. Since the majority right now are newbies, it won't go much higher than it is right now. As people start to shift into the middle tiers, the prices will adjust as appropriate.

The funny thing about posts

The funny thing about posts of that nature, the ones that insist that energy regeneration be sped up, is the seemingly total and utter innocence about the fact that the game is INTENDED to be limited, because the game needs to eventually make a real-life profit for those who funded and created it.

For someone to say "Well, you have nothing to do after energy runs out, so WTF?" ..... hahaha, it's just a golden moment of naivete, haha. You're not SUPPOSED to have anything to do! That moment when you run out of energy, that's supposed to be your decision point. Quit for now, come back tomorrow? Pay a huge chunk of your hard-earned crowns? Or open the wallet?

You're meant to have some incentive to lay down a couple bucks, or you're supposed to be clever enough to play the crystal energy market to the point that it becomes interesting for the paying customers to make a hefty crown profit, and it becomes possible for you to play perpetually without any investment of real-world dollars.

Perpetual play was not intended for the casual free player in this particular MMO. As with the vast majority of free MMOs, the "free" option comes with limitations. In this particular game, the amount of time you can effectively play for free per day is the limit. In other games, it's the areas you can visit. In still others, it's the level you can obtain. In yet others, a "free" label could mean something as simple as a simple trial area. There are a solid few that let you experience quite a bit of the game totally for free, and simply have a for-pay item shop .... yet they are in the minority, and their business models almost universally evolve to a point where it becomes nigh on impossible to truly progress to the game's highest tiers without paying something.

In Spiral Knights, you can actually see every last bit of content as a free player; just not as quickly as you might have otherwise.

But...

If you think about economics, people always want the most bucks for less bang. As long as the energy economy is player-ran, the prices for energy will do the exact same thing like gasoline is doing. One solution may be the use of energy loans.
