If I were to have a solver coat and cap pierce max would the pierce defense max out after equipping the first piece or would I get the benefit of having the defense of both?

Another question How much defense do 5 star trinket (ex royal jelly band) provide compared to UVs

A max defense UV is not

A max defense UV is not equivalent to a piece of armor, so a max pierce UV wouldn't make up for the lack of a skolver cap or coat.

For the status/defense trinkets, I'm pretty sure that the 5* trinkets are equivalent to a High UV.

Really appreciate the

Really appreciate the answer, but I think I worded the first question wrong ill try to reword it again. (Do defenses max out? If you were to have full skolver both with pierce maximum would the pierce defense max out once it fills the bar or does it go beyond the bar?)

Defense is not like say Sword

Defense is not like say Sword Damage Bonus which hits a wall at 6 (Maximum) and can't go any further. Defense appears to stack without a cap (at least without a cap that has been found yet). There are test threads out there that have looked at this. I think the wiki has links to some of them from the damage or maybe the UV pages. Defensive Maximum UV seems to be more equivalent to Very High in weapon UV terms because Max defense UV is not twice as much as High defense UV. While in weapon UV Max is twice as much as High, but Max is not rollable.

So, if it were me I would look to stack Defensive UV instead of broadening them (and just have more Armor sets to cover the other damage types).

Here is a discussion on UV that made me realize that Low, Med, High, and Maximum are not equivalent for Weapons and Armor UVs:

I'll just leave this

I'll just leave this here.

According to these predictions (which thus far have proven correct) you'll bump your pierce defense damage reduction from ≈40% to ≈60%.

Which sounds kind of nice actually, guess I have a new set to make.
