Should I still Upgrade my Bristling Buckler even though I'm a Bomber?

I mean, it only offers Piercing Protection(Which, I was told, not very Common in T3)& gives a Sword-Only Bonus.

I plan on getting the Mad Bomber Set+Elite Boom Module to Maximize my Bombs' Damage & CTR Capabilities, & I've already gotten my Volcanic Plate Shield(I like it, because of its MASSIVE Bump Helps me get away from enemies a lot of times & I'm going to get the Ironmight for Piercing Protection in RJ Runs & Other Areas)

So, basically, this will be my Loadout:

Mad Bomber Mask(Cobalt Helm Costume)
Mad Bomber Suit(Heavy Demo Suit Costume)
Volcanic Plate Shield(Or Ironmight under some Circumstances)

Combuster
Nitronome
Voltaic Tempest
Dark Briar Barrage

So, Long Story Short, should I Upgrade it just to give my Sword a lil' Bonus or should I stick to what I got?
((I'm not going to Get Owlite, so don't say it.))

As a bomber, for a piercing

As a bomber, for a piercing shield, it would be better to get either Ironmight or Aegis, as they offer more protection than BTS.

So no, don't upgrade it.

What about the royal jelly

What about the royal jelly shield?
It has the most pierce protection out of them all if the bars dont lie

Yeah, but it doesn't have the Knockback I would want.

I decided on getting Ironmight(Someone In-Game Told me) & I don't think the Sleep Resist would help, as well as the lowered Normal Defence.

You're a bomber right? Then get the Owlite sheild line. Gun Puppies are a bomber worst fear.

If you're already interested in making the Volcanic Plate shield, then the obvious answer is to go Ironmight for your piercing shield, since it crafts off the same alchemy tree.
