I decided to impulse-buy a Switftstrike Buckler Recipe. In the time between me buying the recipe and now, I've switched to a primarily Gunslinger build. My questions is:
Does the Swiftstrike Buckler increase the attack speed of guns, in addition to swords?

(Feel free to input your own opinions on the matter, but I generally haven't been getting my equipment based on practicality, more entertainment)

Yup.

For Swords, you Swing Faster.

For Guns, you Reload Faster.

For Bombs...You...um...uh...Nevermind.

It doesn't speed up reload

It doesn't speed up reload time, but it does speed up the fire rate of guns.

Actually...

It speeds up BOTH firing rate and reload time. I was playing around with Swiftstrike and an Antigua in the Training Hall. The firing rate I didn't notice much of a difference, but the reload time reduction was pretty noticeable on the Antigua when compared to a normal attack speed Antigua.

but does speed up the time taken to bring to gun down right before the reload animation and the time taken to bring the gun up after the reload animation

In case others still don't get it; Somendubcake is correct. ASI doesn't speed up the reload animation, but it does decrease the the amount of time between your last shot fired and your first shot fired from the fresh magazine, because it speeds up draw and holster time (not the amount of time the gun is magically reloading itself).

ASI also will let you shield quicker (or at least having your weapon animation finish faster reduces the time between attack and shield even if it doesn't actually make your shield move any faster).

The SS is hands down the best shield for T1, many people can get great use out of it in T2, but only few can pull it off in T3.

It is also really nice for testing the effect of ASI on various weapons.
