Can someone please tell me why my Jellies look like this instead of like this? Please note that it's not just the Jellies. Lichens also don't appear all pretty like either. They are also just dark masses. Not all Jellies are like this though. However, most are. All Lichens appear like this. All the other monster categories, other players, NPCs, etc.. appear fine.

I've uninstalled Spiral Knights, updated my drivers, updated Java, and reinstalled Spiral Knights, but it didn't fix the problem. My graphics option is also set to high.

It's not a huge problem, just rather annoying. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What is your video chipset?

What is your video chipset? This is definitely a video system related error.

Your video chipset could be

Your video chipset could be the problem. The old Intel integrated video sets actually lack the hardware to do certain lighting and transparency textures, so the emulated though software. As you've seen, not the greatest results.

Are you using the latest update form your laptop vendor or directly from Intel? There can be a surprising difference sometimes.

Well drat... I don't think

Well drat... I don't think there's much else that could be done unless you enjoy a day of experimenting with older driver revisions. I'm still impressed you've got it running on a 945 though, I run a lappy with a 965 sometimes and coming from a desktop it's intolerable for me.

Toggling to graphics low or the compatibility mode (I can't remember precisely which one) toggles some of the transparency effects off and might help you enjoy your Jellies.

That's what it looks like

That's what it looks like when you have compatibility mode turned on. Turn it off and they should look pretty.
