We players on the U.S. West coast are about as far away from the East servers as Europeans are. I'm getting HORRIFIC lag down here; sometimes, it's so bad that any actions I try to take in-game may get done about half a minute later, and it can last for about half an hour straight. Granted, it's not always that bad, but when it is, the game is literally unplayable. Is there anything that Three Rings can do about it for us?

Okay, half that

Okay, we're half that distance away. We west coast players still need our servers.

The serevers are much further

The serevers are much further from me than from you and my laggin problems are not that bad but anyway. Sk isnt that big right now you know there are a lot of MMO´s bigger. I believe them OOO are aware of how many players are not north americans neither europeans. But this is not a problem that you can solve sittin in front of a pc, you gotta move stuff and dinero, the best we can do right now is to be patient.

Be glad

I say be happy that Three Rings doesn't do like other MMOs do. They create Realms that separate players by region or by server. We can play together (with lag) but still, together.

There is a lot of difference

There is a lot of difference in server performance everywhere, though I play from Latin America and it's still as awful XD

But it's a good thing to have a server in EU, and I second the thought that being altogether in the same server is a wonderful gesture.

Distance

The issue isn't so much about physical distance, but the time required for a round trip of an electrical or optical signal. From the east cost of the US to Europe, you have undersea fiber-optic connections, that are very fast. For East-West cost, what network do you have? Is it a straight fiber-optic connection, or do you have a network grid, going all over the place?
A straight line fiber-optic connection with repeaters along the way is a lot faster than a network grid with heaps of nodes.
