As the forum title suggests, there's something really wrong with the status resistances of the Angelic series. If we consider styling reasons only, the problem with giving curse resistance to the Angelic set gives rise to Faust use with that set, which doesn't look right. Similarly, the fire resistance of the Fallen set makes its use more obvious in FSC, where the Divine Avenger is favored. The Fallen using a heavenly weapon like the Divine Avenger also doesn't look right.
And from a theoretical standpoint, it still isn't right. One could say that angels are "resistant" to fire because they aren't on God's bad side, unlike the Devil, who is bound to go to Hell and burn forever, and hence isn't resistant to fire at all. In the Bible, God is known to burn things with "holy fire;" how is it, then, that his servants aren't resistant to it at all? However, angels that sin against God can be cursed with the Devil, while demons are already "cursed" and can be considered resistant to it. They may even cause curse in others, consistent with Faust use.
Either way, the resistances aren't right.
What do you all think of it?
I think you're wayyyy overthinking this.
Personally, I think the Fallen set looks boss with the DA and Grey Owlite, and don't at all mind how the GF looks when paired with the Divine set; it's not a perfect match, but that's 1. totally, totally subjective, 2. certainly not reason enough to rebalance or redesign a weapon or a set, and 3. one reason the Wear Armour As Costume option exists.
I tried making sense of the mad screed of your second paragraph but I felt my eyes glaze over and stopped.
