NEEDED - Put a safe-zone/energy wall around the exit elevator. Players who make it to the exit shouldn't have to be fighting to survive against Phantoms while Herp McDerp runs around trying to find hidden boxes.

Optionally, I think it would be a nice idea to reward players for making it to the exit quickly. At the moment the Graveyard levels seem to be mostly about just running to the end and not getting much, if any reward for the stage. I know there are chances to get rewards by going off the beaten path/killing zombies and I like that risk-reward mechanic, but fundamentally the Graveyard stages are a "survival race" minigame, so rewarding players for working quickly would be nice.

are you kidding? graveyards

are you kidding? graveyards are great for loot, is the phantom that hard to hold off? I do get your issue about waiting at the elevator safely though.

Yeah if you coordinate it's

Yeah if you coordinate it's not too hard to get everything in graveyards. Just don't let your team actually start until you tell them to take it slow and focus on the phantoms, because if you do they're usually pretty easy.

I'd like a safe zone around

I'd like a safe zone around elevators in general; I've occasionally had teammates who didn't immediately act after loading, and consequently got nailed by monsters as they were still standing on the elevator at the start of the level.

(For example, sometimes a player will tab into another window to check email while the level slowly loads)

Also, I have no idea why graveyards are unskippable, and tied into the same random level scheme as treasure vaults. Especially when I often encounter them in a tier where they are woefully out of theme (like fire levels). Was the idea to balance out the ease of treasure vaults by adding some sort of opposite level as a drawback? Because any time that a level is used as a punishment, that's a sign that maybe the design isn't optimized for fun.

I love the graveyards!

The grave yards are a lot of tense fun. Constantly having the phantoms breathing down your neck makes for a great challenge with a good loot pay out.

Here is a strategy. Have 1 good player, or 2 ok players stay with the phantoms the whole time to keep them occupied while the others beat up hapless skellys for their lunch money.

Don't race through graveyards, they are way to valuable to waste the energy on the elevator ride down!

Leave your team mate dead and run for the elevator, they'll be auto resurrected on the next floor with 3 bars of health (but they lose the heat earned on that floor iirc). I think party buttons also warp dead party members?

Graveyards are a bit hard for

Graveyards are a bit hard for a newbie, but it's great for loot. Definitely not a punishment. You shouldn't just run through it, that's newb-ish :)
I'm not sure what I think about safe zones, in graveyards or anywhere else...

Graveyards aren't difficult

Graveyards aren't difficult for new players, tier 1 graveyards are a piece of cake, I remember loving doing them back then.
