Ok so recently I've been saving up my CE for a 4* weapon. At first I was ganna upgrade my Arc to a Winmillion but I decided to just keep my arc for T2 Lockdown. Problem is the spur was my man weapon. Now I dont know what to craft. O i was wondering if you guys could hep out with some suggestions.
First off my playing style - I almost always go in parties and enjoy weapons that re unique and fun to use for that scenario. For Example, I realized that the spur isnt the best choice for swords but I find the lunging and the wide arc fun to use. I also Love my sun shards simply because its not just another bomb."
basically if its unique and fun to use, Ill like it. Here Are some of my favorites from greatest to least
Sun Shards
Arc Razor
Magnus
Cutter
Prismatech Alkemer II
my Cutter is a double variant so I'n thinking about upgrading that but at the same time I want to be a full on bomber. Ive also had my eyes on a brandish but Im not sure.Anyone have any experience with a weapon thats fun to use?
'Fun to use' is really subjective, but you should keep in mind a couple of things.
For swords, there's 4 basic styles: fast, 3-swing, lunging and slow/2-swing. I'd say that you did the right thing by leaving your Spur, since it can't be upgraded to 5* and the 4* version has some problems with enemy dodge due to the phantom 2nd hit. Fast swords at 5* numbers only two (Dread Venom Striker and Wild Hunting Blade), both of which upgrade from Cutter. If you really like the fast style, then upgrading to DVS is usually the preferred path. Calibur and Brandishes are both 3-swing style swords, so you can get the 2* version of either and try it out to see if you like it. Calibur is a pretty basic sword, whereas Brandishes can upgrade to either elemental or shadow swords. Lunging swords are the two piercing swords, Flourish and Barb Thorn. Slow ones are Sealed and Troika series.
After you find a sword style you like, you should getting one of each damage type as well (piercing--not much choice in style here, elemental, and shadow), or at least two types of damaging swords. You want to do bonus damage against monsters as much as possible, and situations like being stuck with a piercing sword against constructs are pretty terrible.
For bombs, there really aren't that many viable damaging dealing bombs--DBB and Nitro are pretty much the only two that would work. However, I'd say that bombing by itself is plenty of fun, so if you really like bombing, then grab these two and a couple of status bombs (fire and freeze are very popular, followed by shock and poison; not many people use the stun bomb as far as I know) and you can be a credit to any party. Don't use Nitro when there's other people around, though.
Guns...one of the most fun guns I've used is Biohazard. Its charge is great, and seeing a bunch of monsters die with one big explosion is always satisfying. Alchemers are very interesting to use when you get to 4* and 5*, since the bounces can do a lot of damage and good gunslingers can do lots of cool trick shots.
Seeing as how you don't have any 4* equipment yet, I'm guessing you haven't been to T3? The step up in difficulty from T2 to T3 is pretty huge, and you might have to sacrifice some uniqueness for functionality. Still, play with what you find best to your style and have more fun that way is always the right path.
