I use this gear, this class, and these tactics:

Gear-
Azure Guardian Helm
Azure Guardian Armor
Dark Thorn Blade
Spike Shower

Class-
Guardian; Striker is too vulnerable for me, and Recon is sort of useful, but I like having a solid defense. As a Recon, if you are discovered, you are basically screwed. Fore Striker, I hate the health decrease. Guardian is easiest for me to use also, mainly becuase the shield works the same as in PvE, exept for the added dome.

Tactics:
Close combat. Put up shield while teamates take a base. In firefights, i spam the Spike Shower indesciminently over the whole area, usually damaging or killing several enemies. If they survive, my teamates finish them. When i am fighting one enemy, I attack them quickly and repeatedly with the Dark thorn Blade.

This works out well for me. What do you do?

recon all the way. my

recon all the way. my favorite class to play, mixed with heavy sword like a DA or GF (usually mostly gran faust though) hit and run (or rather.. walk away) tactics work for me good enough to be able to hold my own in many situations, though flourish/btb spamming is quite annoying. D:

i have a bomber setup as well which i use as recon/guardian, and sometimes striker, but thats very rare that i play striker to be honest.

Combuster (or any other

Combuster (or any other brandish) + Guardian combo: Stay within a guardian's shield charging, and when the enemy comes in to attack the guardian, you charge attack that person, since the guardian shield protects you. Also: If you do this with a glacius and freeze the person, he/ she is good as dead.

bomber here

guardian
and the same equipment as the pve bomber build
mad bomber
DBB for pure damage on the rare occasion it's the best option
AoA for area denial "feel free to stand there and burn while i laugh at your suffering from over here"

whatever else you want just makes it better

also the goal is hit and runs you aren't here to get kills just to bring up the "there's better places other than right there for you to be"

Recon Bomber

(posting from SK alt account since steam is fuxed)

Halfway through writing this it's becoming a sortof Bomber PvP Guide, oh well! I make no claims on being an authority but this is how I roll in Lockdown.

So I've been playing with a lot of different setups trying to make my bomber ideal in PvP

I think the roll of bomber is all about harassing the enemy (area denial as above poster said) however that doesn't mean we can't do damage like all those skolver strikers do.

I try to focus on bombing but make sure I'm covered in 1v1 situations by having a sidearm and sword as well.

RECON - running the below setup I average 6-7k damage and have high points of 12k+ (obviously a Skolver/Striker can outdo these easily but I prefer my bomber role)

Armor-

Mad Bomber Suit
Mad Bomber Mask
(CTR High/Damage increase High)

Shield-
BTS (Sword Medium)

Trinkets
1)Elite Boom Module (increases damage to Maximum!)
2)Free Choice here, I'm working on The Sword Damage and Handgun Damage Trinkets as +damage is fantastic with the Recon Debuff (The new availability of heart pendants also makes those seem like a solid choice as charging bombs leaves you open to being hit)

Bombs-
Nitronome (with all my + damage it will 2 shot most strikers, also the knockback confuses people like crazy, allowing me to keep bombing or disappear)
Voltaic Tempest (great for area denial, I will drop these initially or after a few nitronomes, shock being arguably the most annoying debuff)

Sidearm-
Mega Magnus (great for pegging off Polaris spammers)

Sword-
Gran Faust (ASI Medium on this one, generally used for an ambush attack, I don't often use my sword once I drop my stealth, this is for picking off stragglers) everyone knows how hard faust hits, so I don't need to go into it

I've managed to win a lot of 3v1's, and get multiple kills against groups of 4. The nitronome is key to this build and using your stealth effectively. When not fighting groups it's more focused on sword/gun with bombs as finishers or for escape.

STRIKER-
I find myself shying away from the striker bomber. But I focused on achieving this build for a long time. I do way more damage with my recon setup, this this can help with supporting a team better in come from behind situations

Mad Bomber Set
2x Elite Bomb Focus Module
Slot 1 - DTB, GF, Magnus, or Blackhawk
Slot 2- Nitronome
Slot 3- Voltaic Tempest
Slot 4- Shivermist

You have to have CTR UV's or complete bombs for this to work, but you can achieve Maximum CTR for bombs as striker. as long as you have a total CTR of 10 i believe) This setup is fun, it's really great for harassing points and taking points, but not really effective for 1v1 in my experience. I know a lot of bombers running this setup will go for 4 bombs, adding RSS to the rotation. I don't mind RSS, feel confident in my ability to aim it, but i just like the larger field AoE's of the haze bombs and the Nitronome.

GUARDIAN-

don't play guardian as often, but pretty much same setup as RECON, but with vog cub cap, dtb, and blackhawk (don't have sentenza recipe yet =\ ) I'm not crazy about guardian but find it necessary to step into the roll at times. I need to experiment more with guardian, but defense is always on the back burner when you are a bomber!

Other Notes- (stuff I have tried but not in love with)

Dark Briar Barrage -I Thought DBB would be amazing for PvP, it definately holds up, it outdamages the nitronome against anyone that doesn't have piercing defense, however it's lack of knockback makes me favor the Nitronome. I'm trying to mix it in for more of my setups, but since it doesn't knock back, people tend to storm through it to try to take you out with a Rapier.

Shivermist - I actually want to use the Stun Line Atomizer but am just not leveling it. I find that too many people (Skolvers) are immune to it. and will only use it if I see fewer skolvers on the other team than usual

Ash of Agni - great DoT but it does nothing to slow your opponents down (unlike VT's annoying Shock)

Voltaic Tempest - Shock is awesome except for people who are immune to it (Xerox in his Mercurial set! Skolvers with Shock Trinkets)

But yeah, Recon Bomber is evil.
