maybe no one joins you for a time. you can spend crowns to make another of you. another player wanted to join himself in the clockworks. this is how you clear a depth quickly.

I don't think I quite understand the point of the OP. So you spend crowns to clone yourself, which presumably is controlled by the game? Then just save up some Metaknights and have them be your pals.
