Well...
If you look at the spiral Knights promo video on youtube (not the official release one) you can see a Gold Trojan. Also if you use SpiralSpy you may be able to find a gold Pup on there.

Honestly,
I think they should come back. If not only to add a bit of variation, but also because it'd be fun to have an invincible enemy randomly spawn before me. Stuff like this really makes it regrettable that I missed out on Beta.
