im making a WHB (dont say it sucks plz i want it cause it looks awesome)
i like WHB (dont say get a DVS plz)

but what iv read about the WHB is that the 2nd attack (the wolver bite) happens a bit late or knocks enemy away or something like that so that if you want all your hits to land, full combo, you have to corner it or something like that. Is this true? and if so, how does it work and how would it differ from other cutter attacks?

for people who have used or seen WHB being used in game, how do you use it to its max potential effectiveness?
and also, this may sound stupid, but does anyone use the cutter charge attack safely and effectively? if so, in what kind of situation?

BTW I wear full vog with sword CTR trinkets.

@Alynn If you want, you can

@Alynn If you want, you can search "spiral knights Biohazard" in YouTube. The demonstration includes some footage of WHB's attacks, but unfortunately not on enemies. I also heard the bite lags where it won't hit your enemy unless cornered, as you said. And for the charge attacks, the best probable situations would be against vana's mask, possibly Roarmulus, gun puppies (red rovers only), shielded menders, vanaduke first phase, and for suicide attempts in FSC. I actually am planning on getting a WHB myself just for the looks, but yours will probably look cooler with VH ASI. I am getting it for the main reason of testing attack chaining.
You are gonna look awesome with this sword.
Edit: As another suggestion, I would recommend damage trinkets rather than CTR. With this, you would do approximately 152 + 76 damage per swing (normal swing + wolver bite damage), which totals about 230 damage per swing. With a full combo against a cornered enemy, you would do 230 • 5 = 1150 damage per combo! And it will be fast because of your armor. Against a non-cornered enemy, you would do about 760 damage in one combo, if none of the wolver heads hit. I am guessing the combo will take about 1.8 seconds to complete, and that kind of damage in such a short time is impressive. This setup would be much more effective IMO, but ultimately, it is your decision.
I can understand why you would want a CTR, since the charge does look sweet. The setup with the DMG trinkets however would greatly increase dps, in addition to looking like a boss.

I use the WHB too!

First off, let me give you an internet high five for using the Wild Hunting Blade over it's uglier counterpart. Kudos!

I've had it for a few days now, and I am by no means an expert, but I have found that the wolver bites do hit a little less often than the ghost strikes of the previous swords. Also, they don't follow your sword. Instead, they come from the area you started the attack from (If you did the first hit in your combo, the wolver would bite from where your slash began, not from where it ended.) More often than not, you do knock the monster back out of the range of the wolver's bite. The sword's regular combo is best used when the enemy is backed into a corner, as that's really the only way you can guarantee you'll land all your hits.
*TL DR: Best used when the opponent is backed into a corner, charge is pretty good if used right, the wolvers aren't as reliable as the ghost swords.*

I'm trying to find ways to use the charge attack, since it handicaps the player not using their weapon's charge. The charge isn't as bad as they say, each hit does the same damage as the final hit in your regular combo. What I like to do is run past in front of a lumber and trick them into attacking, then running behind them and unleashing my charge. The fire puppies in the firestorm citadel are also good candidates, as they attack slower than regular gun puppies. Get them to charge their attack, run behind them, and release. You'll recover before they can attack you. Trojans make good victims too. Just imagine them as more powerful lumbers. Get behind them and release, you'll do massive damage.
*TL DR: Trick the slow to recover enemies into attacking, get behind them, and release.*

Trinket-wise, I do suggest switching out those CTR trinkets for other things as you're not going to be using the charge attack often. A sword damage bonus trinket works well with the Wild Hunting Blade, you can put two sword damage bonus trinkets on (that gives max damage vs beasts, and very high against everything else) which is what I reccomend most, since CTR isn't that useful, and you already have great speed with your vog cub armor.
*TL DR: Get sword damage trinkets.*

I'm really pleased to see another person using the Wild Hunting Blade. The sword is an underdog, but I still think alot of people underrate it. Use it right, and you can do great damage while looking like a boss.

@Glasscake do you think you

@Glasscake do you think you would be able to upload a video of the WHB in action? Against wolvers, or robots, or anything. I think it would help Alynn and myself. I personally have never seen one used before in game. :(

@Slayzz SOrry for the late

@Slayzz SOrry for the late reply.

I may be able to, but I'm not promising anything, since I don't have any recording equipment atm, nor have I ever recorded before. I'll try to get some gear sorted out for recording, and I'll post here with any news on the subject.

EDIT: Got some recording software, I should be able to upload some reasonably good videos with it in the near future. I'll post the links to the tutorials here.
