Lockdown Recon weakest?

Is this one of the weakest class in LD? I rarely sees people using it and those who uses it are not really good.
Most Pro people use striker and Guardian. Recon is the least uses of class. A useless class in LD?
Is there any recon user in LD that gives u an annoying and hell time in LD? I dont think so...

Recon can be the strongest class if you play it correctly. As long as you don't get hit while cloaked, you're good to go.
Not only do you get the pleasure of starting off with a sneak-attack, you can also give them the death-mark and completely remove their defences for five seconds. During this period you can easily kill your target as long as you don't give them the time they need to recover.
They also get the luxury of Maximum CTR for bombs, as long as their bombs are complete, making them capable of bomb-spamming.
Recons are meant for defence and tactical offence. They're sort of a hybrid-class between Striker and Guardian in that sense.
I used to be a decent recon. I might return to that class someday.

Its good if your weapons aren't all that great. Lets you pick off weakened players. Of course, I'm not all that great at lockdown. :P

I know that recon is good for gunners and bomb spammers. I never ever sees a good recon using swords( less asi as penaty) and have the highest dmg. Most of recon swords user always get owned by others . I need an advise how to be a good recon swordie. Anyone knew any good recon sword user ? I want to ask them for tips and tricks .
Ps. I dont have any bomb except shiva. The only gun I have is blitz.

Recon is the hardest class to play, so naturally less players use it & are good with it.
It's my favorite when I don't need to play a carry role. Especially with a weapon that the enemy isn't wearing armor against, so I won't have to remove their defenses. Sneak up, snick-snick, and off with their head before they even knew I was there.
Might not be as good for an assassin-role now if heart pendants are everywhere...
The key to playing a good one is watching your little aura thing. Sometimes you want enemies to know you're there, sometimes you don't. When you're together as a team: The death mark is usually great to put on Guardians who play well. Against strikers - don't bother, just go for the kill. They'll be able to dash away if you mark them and likely kill some of your team while you're just sitting around cloaked.

Recon is meant for defence and sneaking past enemy lines.
Recon if used correctly and with a good bomb, can devastate enemies, cutting off backup if you're behind enemy lines. They are great for defending captured points(i.e. I was recon on frostbite, my entire team was at middle and right (we started on right) and I had the far left all alone, I didn't die once using only a shock bomb and a twisted snarble.). Recons are less used because most people are noob auto aimers who cant handle stragtegizing so they rush or tank. That is all

Recon with swords is kind of like playing the spy class in TF2. You're squishy and have crap DPS going at enemies face-on, but with a little skill you can backstab your way to victory.
A recon dancing around doing a two-slash pierce sword combo between cloaks can be incredibly frustrating to be on the receiving end of.

Sword Recons take more finesse then Gun or Bomber... although I will freely admit the best Recon I've ever seen was a Gunner... he consistently got over 10k damage shooting at people and was freaking hard to hit. I love playing Recon personally, its so much fun, and if you're good people will either love or hate you (depending on if they're on your team).
Depending on the sword you're using then having ASI on it, or from armor/trinkets, helps a lot. I personally prefer a ASI UV as I like having extra health and damage from my armor/trinkets. The Recon Mark does not appear on the enemy the instant they're in your field, it takes a second before it shows up thus blowing your cover. This can be good or bad depending on how you wish to use it.
If you want to play sneaky assassin then you want to get up to your target before it shows up and smack them in the face before they know you're there. If you use a GF/DA (I hope you have ASI if you're using a GF/DA) then you'll kill a Striker without health trinkets if you hit with the combo, and almost kill another Recon.
If the enemy knows you're there, or if team mates are with you, then you're better off going stealth and keeping them near the edge of your field and planting a Death Mark. Once it's planted many people will run away, giving you 5 free seconds to do whatever. If they don't run then you and your team can take the opportunity to try to kill them. Be smart and use your stealth and you should be ok.
And don't do the mistakes a lot of Recons do! If you're stealthed on a pad don't stand in the middle. You may be invisible but the ring on the pad getting smaller/bigger isn't and is a dead giveaway you're on it somewhere. People naturally attack the middle first, be near an edge. Do not give away that you're there if solo if you're using a weapon different then your opponent's armor(there are exceptions, max UVs for example, but that is the exception to the rule). Example: If your opponent is wearing Vog and you are using a BTB do not mark them if they don't know you're there. Full Vog gives no Pierce defense (excluding possible UVs), you will do the exact same damage with your BTB with or without the Death Mark. And finally don't be predictable... a predictable Recon is a dead Recon, you have no idea how many times I've killed bad Recons because they went stealth and ended up exactly where I thought they'd be.

I find, often, that recon isn't about the damage, but helping out the other players doing the heavy lifting. Laying the death mark, and such, randomly poking a vog cub striker in the back to soften him up then running off, sneaking behind enemy lines and backcapping to split up coordinated teams, suddenly appearing out of nowhere to outnumber the enemy. Recon isn't so much about the damage as it is the mind games. But the occasional death mark to triple kill always feels great.
I mean, there's nothing quite as amusing as watching four enemies scramble over a point, trying to cap it, but getting delayed by the invisible recon on the point that they just can't seem to find. Risky stuff, but it's really funny when I see four people with death marks spamming their sword swings all over the point in panic and miss with three full combos each before they can actually hit me. (It's really really funny when someone actually has to walk off the point and start Polaris spamming to find me.) I might get killed, but my team caps the other point in the process- which is the important part.
Much like the spy in TF2, if you annoy others enough, they WILL go out of their way to find and kill you- and subsequently get stabbed in the tail by your striker teammate whilst distracted. If you manage to also do good damage while annoying the enemy team- well, that's a great bonus.
I dunno what you're on about. Recon is one of the most fun classes to play (at least for me), and i play with it quite effectively as well most games. its not the kind of class where you can just spam your "toothpick" around and hope to score a kill, it requires knowing when the odds are in your favour, or knowing how to attack a large group where you can kill em all etc.

i use the recon class alot for defending points as well, works nicely. as gwen and buck have said, recon can be used largely as a support role, but thats not to say that you cant play offensively as well. learn your weapons like you do eating, sleeping, drinking etc. that 2 hit combo with a GF or a 3 hit combo with a brandish or pierce sword might get you killed if you go all the way instead of shield cancelling for example. do hit and runs on people. weaken them up. a striker with dual heart pendants wont run to a health pad if you hit him once with a GF and cloak. slap on a death mark after and 2 shot him for a nice clean kill, or continue with the hit and run method.
these are just examples btw. there are counters to recons, and some people do it really well (others just spam flourishes and barbarous thorns everywhere till they get a hit lol), its just a matter of practice and experience. the more you play the class, the more you learn its strengths and weaknesses, and how to counter those cons.
Recon is the best class for bombing, at least in T2 and lower since you can't get max CTR any other way without UVs.
And, you know, I seem to do ok.
