like, could someone have the normal 5hp max, + their armor bonus (+10 if armor and helmet are both level 10 5* gear) + their vitapod (could be up to 21 in a shadow lair) + erm.. 12 for 2 penta-hearts. (edited from 10 to 12, thanks Eeyup)

= 48hp.

but.. does it stack? is that actually achievable?

Yes.

They do stack.

I know for a fact you can get

I know for a fact you can get 45hp in Lockdown if you have the right setup, I've had HP that high before. I do not see any reason why you could not get that much in the Clockworks.

They do stack, but someone on the forums said that 40 HP is the limit in Clockworks. I can't find this information in the Wiki, so take it with a grain of salt.

I can test it tomorrow when

I can test it tomorrow when my Mist is regenerated, if not then by Monday I'll have the a pic showing if it maxes at 40HP or not. I personally do not think it does, but I also fairly rarely use my heart trinkets in the Clockworks.

No health limit.

There's no health limit, i tested it myself with pendants plus a 21 Vitapod. I reached the max health of 47 (5 for base health + 10 from armor + 11 from Penta + Tetra pendants + 21 Vitapod). I didn't take screenshots, but i remember there was someone who posted one showing a max health of 50+.

PS: Penta Heart Pendants give +6 each, not +5.

Then maybe 50 is the limit?

Then maybe 50 is the limit? Adding ancient plate set to the equation of the OP, one could have a theoretical max health of 54.

What most people forget is

What most people forget is using a special shield which gives you +2 Health (Scarlet Shield)

+2 Shield
+12 Trinkets
+General Health and armor health (armor being ancient)
+Vita

"They do stack, but someone on the forums said that 40 HP is the limit in Clockworks."

I saw the same post, but I'm skeptical on the source. People regularly tout their theories in a way that they sound as absolute truth. In any case it's made its way to the wiki: "Vitapods cannot raise a knight's maximum health above 40 units". This might simply be a case of outdated information, I'll edit this misunderstanding.

Limit and cap are two separate things by the way, a "Cap" is a coded maximum, the cap on ASI for example is "Maximum!" (6 lows). The limit would be the maximum attainable amount for something within the limits of the game. For example normal defense (ancient plate set with two maximum normal UV's).

I believe health has no "Cap" however, and its limit would be:
Start: +5
Ancient plate mail: +8
Ancient plate helm: +8
Scarlet shield: +2
Penta-Heart_Pendant: +6
Penta-Heart_Pendant: +6
Vitapod: +21
Total: 56

Cap? Sceptical.

I managed to achieve 47 HP at some point. This was with two Penta-Heart Pendants, two fully heated 5* armour pieces (not Ancient, though), Scarlet Shield and a +18 vitapod. Had I used Ancient, my max HP would have been 53. I might check again, though, to see if there is an actual cap (which I believe then would be at 50) but I don't think there is one to be honest.

This was with me entering Emberlight from T2. 45 HP with 2 Penta-Hearts, Ancient set, and a 12 Vita. And Silphius already stated what the current limit is.
