Hiyahiya

I just saw the update about those new drone monsters, and that got me thinking: hey, why i don't I come up with some too? So I did.

Wisp: A floating blue spirit that follows you around, like a phantom or a grimalkin. It looks kinda like a Pikmin from the Nintendo game. If it manages to touch you it flashes and explodes, alerting the Gordion. Inflicts no damage.

Gordion: A huge creature with a human body and a lizard-like head. It carries two hammer and wears armour (hammer and armour pattern differ depending on which tier you're in). When alerted by a wisp it appears in a puff of smoke. It can swipe down with its hammers, inflicting damage and a chance of stun.

Fenrall: A more powerful version of an alpha wolver. It stands on its hind legs and its fur is brown, with a dark brown fun along its back. It can swipe with its claws or lunge forward and bite. Colour differs depending on its status effect.

Wordons: These warriors are made of crystal and can come in different colours, depending on which status effect they inflict. They can shield and swipe, but their shield can be broken. Its attacks are a sword swipe and a bolt of lightning.

Destroyer: The most powerful non-boss monster. When you enter the hallway under Grief Mountain, you here a siren and a crash. A huge robotic creature appears at the top of the screen and starts rolling towards you. It can shoot a lazer beam, which can inflict shock, and swing its giant arm down on top of you. To get rid of it you must either survive the hallway or destroy it.

Crimson Tower is a group of my made up levels, where you fight King Tinkinzar. It is a dark and dangerous place, and only knights in tier 3 can defeat the tower.

Crimson Order: As you fight your up the Crimson Tower, you will encounter members of the Crimson Order. The Crimson Order are stronger then normal gremlins, able to take a bigger beating. They wear cloaks with the Darkfang symbol, and carry a staff. Their main attack is to summon other gremlins to attack you, but when they run out of minions they can shoot glowing golden bolts. They can create a force field like a darkfang mender.

King Tinkinzar: The leader of the Gremlin race. When you enter the King's Chamber, you see King Tinkinzar is sitting on his throne. He looks like an oversized gremlin with a crowns and a Darkfang cloak and a golden staff. When he sees you he steps down from his throne and a force field appears around him. Then the fight begins. The King will try and hit you with bolts of blue lightning. Dodging them is fairly easy, but if you get hit you have a chance of getting shocked. A gremlin mender stands at the back of the chamber, and use must defeat it to destroy the King's force field. Then run in and slash. After a while the force field with appear again, but now you must kill 3 menders. After destroying the force field again, the King will get mad and start firing bolts of golden lightning at you, walking around the room at the same time. Defeat the last five gremlins and deliver the final blows, and then the king will explode in a flash of light.

Grief Mountain is another group of levels I made up, where you fight the Grand Greaver. It stands in tier 3, where only the bravest of knights may challenge it.

Grand Greaver: The Leader of the Greavers. At the start of the battle you enter a circular chamber, and the Grand Greaver is floating on a circular platform in the middle. You must run around the chamber, avoiding the shock balls thrown at you by the Sparkies (shock gun puppies). Destroy all the puppies and a bridge will appear that connects to the Grand Greavers Platform. Slash at the Grand Greaver but back away when an electric shield appears around him. Run back to the outside area and the Sparkies will respawn. Destroy the Sparkies again, and kill the Greavers that have appeared too. Once you have repeated the damage to the Grand Greaver, it will glide off its platform and start doing circles around the room. Run around behind it and destroy its back wings, then run around and do the same to its front. Its attacks are its bite and its electric charge.

Grock: A cube made of rock, with a red spot on one of its faces. It will try and squash you, but wait until its spot is showing and slash it. Belongs to no family.

Likwid: A member of the slime family. It appears as a puddle, but after you come close it will slide after you. If it leaps forward it can wrap around you and deal damage, but you can kill it by slashing when it jumps. Colour differs depending on its status effect.

Gloop: If you stand in this puddle it will snap shut and deal damage. Another party member can free you but it lets go after a few seconds.

Solikwid: If you try and shoot or bomb it it will change into a solid form, protecting its gooey skin. Normally pink, but it is grey in solid form.

Spinikwid: It swings from the ceiling on a chain, covered in spines.

Pulsamech: A normal mecha knight with a glowing blue shield. When attacked it can create a powerful pulse, pushing you backwards. It can use its sword as well.

Vacuumech: A normal mecha knight with a glowing blue shield. Instead of the Pulsamech, the Vacuumech doesn't push you back: it draws you in. A Vacuumech can pull you towards it and slash.

Flickertail: A member of the beast family. It looks like a an upgraded alpha wolver, and kind of like a Fenraal. Its main attack is to spin its tail, creating a pillar of flames. (Like the Fang of Vog) It can also do a small tail swipe, which inflicts less damage.

Stone Flickertail: Just like a normal Flickertail but with a twist. When in danger it can turn to stone, which takes a few hits to break. But as soon the stone is broken, it can swipe with its tail.

Bonbon: When you come near a Bonbon it explodes like mine. Step with caution.

Boombon: It swings from the ceiling like a Spinikwid, but explodes on contact.

Bonbon Puppy: A gun puppy that spits Bonbons. The Bonbons stick to you and explode.

Gormace: A Gordion that swings a mace instead of a hammer. Its attack is a powerful swing, which can cause stun, and it can also throw the end of its mace like a Bonbon.

Murky Marsh is another group of my made up levels. These levels don't have an end boss, and is situated in tier 1.

Padlings: Spider like creatures that look exactly like lilipads. They can leap on you and bite.

Monk: Monks jump down from the trees and swipe at you. They're members of the beast family.

Kokonuts: They look like coconuts, but when you approach them they drop down from the trees and explode.

Monkoko: Monks that hurl Kokonuts at you.

Why not?

We do need more enemies, and I really wouldn't mind fighting some of these, though some of them do have severe balance problems (Crimson order).

More new Monsters

Come up with some more. Hope they're better than the last. Completely new family, too!

Stone Family

Stone monsters have no weaknesses and are extremely hard to kill. Please post ideas on more stone monsters. Need ideas!

Grock: This monster was in my last list. Grocks are cubes made of rock with a red spot on one of its faces. Hit the red spot to destroy it, but it will try to crush you.
Attacks: Squash

Stone Being: Stone Beings look like ordinary blocks of rock, but when you run past them they transform into Stone Beings, warriors made of stone. They can swing down with their fists, which can inflict stun, and they can stomp, causing a boulder to fall down from the sky.
Attacks: Stone fists, Boulder

Sand Funnel: Sand Funnels aren't really monsters, but they can still inflict damage. If you step on a Sand Funnel you are sucked in and spat back out. Step with caution.
Attacks: Swallow

Snarg: The first sign of a Snarg is when the sand beneath you shakes. If you don't move it will leap out and eat you. Hit the red spots on its stomach to kill it.
Attacks: Bite

Spiral Knights storyline

Spiral Knights Storyline.

A dark mass is moving towards Cradle. Soon it will destroy Cradle completely. Terrible new Death monsters have taken over the Clockworks. The Spiral Knights look at the dark mass hopelessly. The world is doomed. But...

All the energy from the minerals has stirred the planet's core. The path is open. And only you can save the day.

If you've already defeated Tier 3, you can just click on the elevator link to 'The Core'. If you haven't defeated Tier 3, you still have a lot of work to do.

Depth 29 now has a bridge connecting the platform to the Core. Cross the bridge and enter the door. There is a white ball floating in front of you. But it is guarded by enemies.

Once you destroy the enemies, you can reach the core. When you touch the core it transforms into a swirling portal. Step inside.

When you open your eyes you are on the dark mass. Death monsters walk through the mist, always spawning and looking for Knights. Find the 3 shadow keys and place them in the boss gate.

I'm still thinking for the ending. Here are the monster info:

Death monsters have no weaknesses and are endlessly spawning. They can only be defeated by light balls, found on the Dark Mass and throughout the Clockworks.

Mist:
Appears: Dark Mass, Clockworks / Attacks: Cursed Fumes / Drops: Nothing

Dread:
Appears: Dark Mass, Clockworks / Attacks: Swipe, Cursed breath

Thinking of more

Ending

This is a much shorter version of the ending. I originally made a full in depth ending, with boss characters and new monsters, but it got deleted when I accidentally closed the page.

1. You fight the final boss (Count Wrath) inside the Dark Mass. He can summon Gordions and Gormaces against you and wields a dark cold iron carver. He looks like a twisted half formed creature and can shoot Mist balls at you.
2. You fall off the Dark Mass and into a small village. You have landed on the planet Tinkle and must stop the Dark Mass, which has sunk to the very core of the planet. You also suspect that the Spiral Knights ship, the Skylark, has crashed on Tinkle, so you enter the Great Pit to investigate.
3. You enter the Great Pit. The Great Pit is like the arcade, with gates and monsters and new bosses too (please give ideas) . Defeat all the bosses and enter the Core, where the Dark Mass awaits.
4. You fight your way through the Dark Mass and reach the Count, who is now a lot more powerful. The Count can summon Flickertails and Gordions against you, and can now shoot rebounding Mist balls. He wields a Cold Iron Vanquisher and can throw powerful fireballs.
5. After destroying the Dark Mass you find the Skylark at the bottom of the Great Pit. It is a magnificent, streaked with blue, red and white. When you enter the Skylark the leader of the Spiral Order, Alpha, tells you that its ready to fly. Then the Skylark takes off and disappears.

END

Good Point

Good point Mysticbeam. Any ideas on what you should do after you board the Skylark?

I'm thinking of you being able to visit other planets. But that would make the game too complex, and wouldn't stick with the Spiral Knights game style.

I'm thinking of making a Shadow Lair version of the new bosses. This would be a good challenge for stronger knights, because the new bosses are already pretty hard.

I'm thinking of a way to connect Cradle to Tinkle, and one idea is that you can board the Skylark, theres a whooshing sound, and then you appear back in Haven. And vice versa.

Spiral Knights must have a storyline. Thats my main issue with the game. After i while I find myself doing the same levels over and over. Sure, Tier 3 is a hefty challenge and defeating bosses is kind of part of a storyline. But after Tier 3 you find yourself going to the core over and over. Spiral Knights is fun, but you have to be making progress. So this Dark Mass storyline is supposed to kind of a side quest.

But like I was saying, the story can't keep going forever. But when it ends your gonna end up doing what you did before: repeating the same levels all over again.

So I was thinking: hey, why aren't there MORE side quests?

You are allowed to collect materials to make mission keys. These materials have to be pretty hard to get, otherwise you'll be unlocking missions all over the place. Anyway, the first mission is the Dark Mass, and SEGA can create more missions after that.

Anyway, all these missions involve you going to a new place and doing something. Each mission is harder then the last, with even stronger monsters than the last planet.

Gonna post some new monsters and bosses soon.

Tell me if my idea is good. If it isn't, please give me some ideas on how to keep the game interesting
Thanks

I think your ideas are pretty good. I find myself doing Vanaduke too much. I stopped after i got my FoV, but then i realized i earned 70 jelly tokens. Then i tried Rourumulous Twins. It is getting kind of old. A new tier would be nice, and new original bosses, not the shadow lairs. Shadow lairs you need a key witch is pretty hard to get and the bosses are a little bit different and get a new attribute (poison, fire, freeze, curse). This adds a whole new level of story line. Good idea!

You know the rose knight sets? Isn't the story kind of lame?
(yes)
I was thinking about a side quest about the rose. I was thinking:
Once, there were six brave warriors, knights of the rose. They lived peacefully with the beast and nature around them. They live like this for a long time, until a dark force came, leaving them in great danger. Strangely, all the roses died in the garden. Then, all the animal went away. Then all nature vanished. They where very scared on what was coming, and when they were about to leave, it hit them....

Please leave ideas for the mysterious force and what happened to the knights.

Story

I created a story, but unfortunately I forgot to save. AGAIN.
Heres the story in a shorter form.

The Leader of the Spiral Knights, Nova, is wandering the planet of Spiral, searching for light balls. His son, Alpha, is following behind him. Nova spots a glowing rock and starts cracking it with his Divine Avenger. Alpha has wondered off to investigate a glowing purple sword. He accidentally touches the hilt, releasing Count Wrath. The Count, who has been sealed in the ground for years, summons the Dark Mass to take control of Spiral. Nova and Alpha flee back to the city, warning everyone to evacuate. The Spiral Knights scramble on board the Skylark, with Nova taking control of the wheel. The cutscene ends with Alpha looking out the window, watching the Dark Mass engulf Spiral until nothing is left.

By the way, the original story was much better (More descriptive, bigger vocabulary)

But wait! Theres more! The Skylark is seen floating through space. All is peaceful. When...
'WARNING. DREAD SHIPS APPROACHING.' Nova looks at the words flashing on the screen. Then he looks out into space.
"Nothing in sight," says Nova, "Must be a system malfunction." Suddenly, there is a flash of purple light, and three ships appear on the horizon. They look like miniature jets, and leave trails of Mist behind them. They have the symbol of a crescent moon on their wings.
Nova pulls back a handle and the Skylark opens fire. But the Dread Ships are fast and weave in and out of the lasers. Suddenly, there is a flash of light and Alpha is thrown out of his seat. when he opens his eyes, his father is dead and there is a hole in the front window.
Alpha knows that he doesn't have time for sorrow. The Dread Ships are coming back.
Alpha scans the buttons and leavers in front of him. What should he do? His finger stops over a glowing red button that reads 'Evacuate'. Then Alpha knows what he must do. He presses down and the Skylark lights up with a red glow. 'EVACUATE. MAKE YOUR WAY TO THE EXIT.' Alpha pushes his way through the crowds of Spiral Knights, all of them desperate to escape. Alpha steps into a pod and the door seals shut. He can hear voices outside the pod, screaming, shouting. Suddenly, he feels the pod being blasted into space, faster, faster. 'IMPACT IN 10 SECONDS'. Alpha closes his eyes and curls up into a ball. '5'. He thinks about his father, who died to save the rest of the Spiral Knights. '3, 2, 1." Darkness.

Alpha opens his eyes. Everything is black. His mind is completely blank. But he can remember two words. Alpha.
"My name," says Alpha, feeling in front of him. His hands grasp the Pod handle and he slides it open. Alpha steps into the light, shading his eyes from the sun. He steps forward onto the grass and whispers the final word. 'Spiral'.

There is a contradiction...

The Spiral Knight were actually reasearching planets and exploring them for info. When they were scanning Cradle in the Skylark, the core in the ship explodes(i dunno why, OOO might).

The Spiral Knights may have more of them on their home planet, but may be deemed dead. Or they lost their planet, then used Skylark as a home, untill the Tearnium core exploded and they now live in Cradle.

New Monsters

OK. New monster time.

Anyone here played the Legend of Zelda? The guys at Nintendo always display the bosses name and what type of creature they are. So I've decided to do that too.

Stone Family

Prehistoric Sand Creature
Rargawrath

The terrible creature that lives deep within the Sand Temple (another side quest).
The Rargawrath is a giant sand snake with a yellow body and red spikes along its back. When a Knight gets close it lunges out of sand, revealing the red orb on its belly. The only way to damage the Rargawrath is to hit its orb. Be careful though. Grocks will fall out of the sky and try to crush the knights, and the Rargawrath can fire boulders from its mouth. After a few hits the Rargawrath will stay permanently above the save, shooting boulders at you. After a while two switches will rise and than sink into the sand. Try and stand on both before they disappear. The sand beneath the Rargawrath will sink, and the giant snake will plunge to its doom below.

Appears: Sand Temple / Attacks: Boulders, lunge, spin / Drops: 4 random tokens

Undead Family

On wiki they only classify Vanaduke as an Undead because he 'died' according to the history of the Citadel. So I think that now they should make a true undead boss.

Armoured Demon
Solostus

Solostus is a being with armour and two glowing yellow eyes that can be seen from behind its helmet. You encounter him if you take the alternate path in the Sand Temple. This boss battle is different from the others. You must make it all the way to the summit of the temple, with Solostus in close pursuit. He can make huge leaps and throw axes at you, but his running speed is pretty slow. If he gets close enough he can fire twin lasers from his eyes. Be careful of the spikes he can raise from the ground as well.
When you reach the top he stumbles down the stairs and plunges into the Temple, where he disappears forever.

Appears: Sand Temple (alternate path) Attacks: Crush, axe throw, twin lasers, spikes / Drops: 4 random tokens

In the Ironclaw Munitions Factory there is a path that is concealed by Unused Rockets. But if blow up the rockets you will be rewarded with an alternative path.

Razorites
These are retrode-like robots with a razor wheel instead of legs. They speed towards you, in an attempt of sawing you in half. They take time to slow down after a charge, so use this opportunity to attack it.

Appears: Ironclaw Munitions Factory, Clockwork Tunnel levels / Attacks: Charge / Drops: Nothing

At the end of the level a giant humanoid construct with two rocket puppies on its arms appears.

Humanoid Construct
Armech

Pretty easy- shoot the rocket puppies (not necessary) then keep shooting Armech. It will shoot lasers at you so be careful.
It will soon lose everything except its head. Armech will lock on to one of the Knights and chase him/her. Destroy the head.

Appears: Ironclaw Munitions Factory (alternative path) / Attacks: Rockets, crush, laser / Drops: Nothing

The real boss is in the next level.

Secret Weapon
Ironite

A giant black lumber with spiked balls instead of tree trunks. It will attempt to crush you and will shoot the spiked balls at you (which reload). Retrodes will enter the arena so kill them before they get the chance to attack. Strike the crystal on Ironite's back to defeat it.
But as you're about to exit the robotic remains of Ironite will erupt from the ground in front of you. Ironite still has the crystal on its back, but whenever you attempt to hit it Ironite will spin around and whack you. It will also leap, and whenever it lands beams will shoot in all directions. Shields will break if they touch a beam and they deal a lot of damage if they hit. Be careful of the spinning Razorites that try and saw you in half.

Appears: Ironclaw Munitions Factory (alternate path) Attacks: Crush, spiked balls, rapid spin, beams / Drops: 4 random tokens

Side quests

They were exploring planets huh? OK then. How about this.

They stop at Cradle to research one of the monsters or something. One of the Spiral Knights sabotages the Skylark and it explodes, leaving them stranded on Cradle. The evil knight turns out to be one of the Spiral Knights' enemies in disguise, and flees from the scene unnoticed.

Anyway, here are the side quests.

Enter the Dark
Dark Key Ingredients: Shadow Steel, Mist Orb, Key Fragment (3)
Info: A Dark Mass is enveloping Cradle in shadow. Enter the Dark Mass and find out who is causing the trouble.
Reward: Grand Key Fragment

Into the Sand Temple
Sand Key Ingredients: Sand Steel, Sparkling Rock (2), Key Fragment (3)
Info: The ground is trembling and earthquakes are happening all over Cradle. Is it the monster in the Sand Temple?
Reward: Grand Key Fragment

Let it Snow
Freeze Key Ingredients: Snow Steel, Icicle Shard, Perfect Snowball (5), Key Fragment (3)
Info: The residents on Cradle Peak are being bombed with avalanches! Maybe you will find the answer at the top of the mountain...
Reward: Grand Key Fragment

I don't know what Grand Key Fragments are going to do right now, so please send ideas! I need some more side quests as well, so please send in some as well!
I also need a name and details for a snow monster, so if you have any ideas please post them.
